Time's Obsession

Description
A warning: This is an experimental mix to do with time!!!!! It has lots of clock stuff in it and so may not seem like music. When you play it loud people tend to congregate in the street, cats run away and dogs cover their ears. Not one person who has listened to this has used this as their phone ring tone.

The story is that I was sat around on New Year's Eve 2007 and, having nothing better to do I constructed a mix to do with time, or rather to do with instruments of time.

I didn't know if I should upload it and have cogitated about this until now. Please let me know what you think.

I do have moments of sanity but my mind tends to drift.....a lot. There it goes again....

It is music.
Some of the chiming is lovely and I rather like the thrumming regular beat. It sounds as if you garnered quite a few samples. Many sound joyous. I think alarm clocks take devious pleasure in waking us from sleep.
Recently, I lived a couple days without being aware of exactly what time it was. No electricity for 22 hours.
Without clocks, nothing would happen on time. Thanks.

Hi Char.....
Twenty two hours without knowing the time, especially if there was no power, is not something I would enjoy!!

This piece is really just a fun piece, not taken seriously by me at all. I was bored.

Thanks for your support though with the piece not exactly being 'easy listening'.

Take care.

Tick, tock, tick, tock
A very interesting experiment. It's got a very interesting structure to it. The background "chimes" have almost a tribal sound to them. It really helps move the piece along. Some of the tones get a little bit jarring, but that's not a criticism, it just seems to offer some interesting punctuation throughout the piece.

Maybe not a ring tone, but it sure as hell would be effective for an alarm clock.

Hi J.......
Your observations about the mix are so true. The piece is a piece of nonsense really, with chaos being the optimal descriptive word, in my opinion.

The will probably never be another piece like this, unless I'm bored again on New Years Eve again!!

Thanks for listening and leaving your thoughtful comments.

The mix could be a recording of the marking of the hour in a clock museum.

Take care.

Hi Kenta....
This piece is one of my more weird!!! It has taken me nearly 9 months to decide on uploading it.

I'm glad that I did.

Thanks for your kind comments. The piece is not an easy one to sit and listen to!!

Take care.

Drifting...it's your music! That's what it is:)
This is what time should NOT feel like - like an unstoppable force working against you:) Seriously though, I like how you create a sense of rhythm and counter it with the higher chime sounds. Calm yet restless. Time can be perceived as linear but often is absolutely subjective and doesn't seem to follow any rules. Yet another creative exploration which lends itself to a visual interpretation. I understand how Drakonis got inspired to do something with one of your tracks. Very interesting and evocative. I'll have to
check your account more often!

Hi Parichayaka......
Thank you for taking time to listen to one of my experiments and leave your thoughtful comments.

Eduard has done me a great service by rendering such beautiful graphics to complement my 'Cosmic Symphony'. If you found yourself here by reading the forum posting/seeing Eduards video, then Eduard has yet again done me a favour.

Take care.
