Description
Today is the big day. My oldest daughter is getting married. And I couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law. Congratulations EJ and Ivony! This song was written about my daughter Ivony, she is the one on the left. Please Congratulate my daughter Ivony and son-in-law EJ.
There are several other versions of this song, one version included David Thomas, Mark Cole and Richard Schletty. A special thanks to John Parker who graciously sang this time. I believe we were on the same page for this version. He asked me what kind of vocals I was looking for and I told him a country feel would be nice. He responded stating that's what he had in mind as well.
If you get a chance check out John's macjam site. blamm

Lyrics
I know that way back then, we were best of friends
A lot of things we did A lot of things were said
But now she’s grown much older and doesn’t cry on my shoulder
She’s got a mind of her own and doesn’t come home...
Ooh I love her so I don’t want to let her go
She’s out in the world alone pick up the phone...
I’d hold her oh so tight taught her wrong from right
Remembering the steps she made beckoning her to come my way
I pray that God will keep her safe cause it’s my faith
Away from harmful people or what ever they’ll do...
Ooh I love her so I don’t want to let her go
She’s out in the world alone pick up the phone...
Haven’t seen her for a while she comes back time to time
There’s always food on our table and a place to sleep
So I wait beside my door a couple of hours or more
Maybe she’ll come home and I’ll hold her tight...
Ooh I love her so I don’t want to let her go
She’s out in the world alone pick up the phone...

Great soundtrack for your life. Congratulations to your family.
It does lean on the country side of the rock spectrum, but not too much.
Very nice song.
No reason this couldn't be on the charts.
