Description

A track from Razor's Kiss II. not sure which number. alot of the songs from this opera came to me out of order, and in act one it took me a minute to get them all in a row, so to speak. this one is early on, as he confronts a catholic priest with his curse, asking for forgiveness and redemption. unfortunately, the priest offers neither, and is summarily dispatched....
Act II is the darkest of the three in that my character cannot die, must claim the souls of others in order to keep himself in one piece. He deals with hatred, dispair, and his loss of faith and love throughout the entirety of this act.

But still catchy. It's got melodic sensibilities but doesn't hold any punches anywhere. The solo, of course, is insane and I really dig how you panned the drums on that. I'm such a novice and never think to do that. I've always been told to keep them dead center, but panned the way you have them gives it more of a live feel. Great tune!

i would love
to take the credit for this, but it is the loops. drums on demand released a new set called solid rock, and these were the ones i used for this song. it has some realistic placement in the mix. snare to the left, toms where they should be, and it is very cool. unfortuneatly, the loops are a bit similar on this cd, so i tend to use the upbeat and aggressive series more. the key is to pick as best you can what sounds hottest for the song. i tend to take several days on drums, getting them as clost as i can to how real drummers approach heavy songs. thanks for the comment!

awesome. how you can tailor those drums so perfectly is beyond me. Very impressive. as i was listening i was anticipating a killer solo, and i was not disappointed. Incridible, really. then when that huge Hanger 18 inspired riff kicked in!! great conviction in those vocals too - esp in the bridge. this is a top post allen. possibly my favorite of yours. looking forward to hearing the rest of this opera.
