Yet another of my 'finished earlier' mixes. This one completed as one of a series in April 2008. I've found it again this morning and decided to upload it.

It's basically a rhythm that winds around itself, inducing other like rhythms, ad infinitum. It's a bit trance-like but not alike enough to put it under that genre. It does go on, and on, and on, so you may find it a tad tedious.

Please let me know what you think.

This certainly is interesting to listen to. Depending on how the rhythm is repeated I would think it's possible to start with a relatively simple line and have it spawn some wildly complex rhythms. With some drums and other accompaniment, and more distinct dynamic changes this could be pretty engaging stuff.

Hi there.....
Your ideas are good and maybe I'll play around with the variations you speak of to see what comes out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

it is an experiment that provokes many thoughts. there are many rhythms here. there is also a slow rhythm from the synthesizer voice flange. and fast rhythms. and between rhythms. it is stimulating. it is dizzy. it is not a rhythm to dance to, however, it dances by itself. it creates crystal beauty in the mind. it is a successful experiment. 0x0

Hi ic42.......
I love your description of how the music was heard by you. It is a refreshing way to have my music described.

It's always a pleasure to have you stop by and leave your thoughts.

Take care.

I like this
At first, I found myself wanting it to build to something more dramatic, like a different instrumental color coming in, or even percussion. But then as it went on, I found the intermixing rhythms and lines entrancing in themselves, and intriguing even in their circuitous path. I like this. Very cool. Peace.

Hi Dajama......
Yes. It does seem 'narrow' in its content. That's why it didn't get uploaded originally. The track that was uploaded seemed a lot more lively in a few different ways.

This just seemed like a 'stocking filler', or something small added as a secondary gift to someone.

The rhythms carry the piece. Everything else is maybe too simplistic.

Take care.

this is a very interesting piece, everyone has mentioned the rhythms and yes: they draw you in and toss you around. i like to surf and sometimes you get held under by the wave and just float around underwater for about 30 seconds before you surface. this reminds me of that feeling, very enjoyable if you just let it wash over you. great track.

Hi Michael....
Your surfing experience seems a little bit scary, but if you get used to this there would be less or even no panic! I suppose you could listen to the noises of the waves or air trapped under water, or float with the motion of the water. Sounds cool in its own way.

This piece is just one I dug out after finding it in one of my hard disk folders. Not exactly where I'm at now musically but I was there once.

Take care.

Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
