Description
this is a funky little indie pop tune that I wrote for my wife. if i'm not writing about high school i'm usually thinking about her or my daughter when i write, but i never write directly about her, so i thought it was about time she got a song of her own.

Lyrics
i like the sight of you barefoot in the grass
when i catch you dancing to your transistor radio
i like the way that you smile just before you laugh
you make the summer go on and on and on

everytime I catch you smile at me
I get so high that i can hardly breathe
you're the apple in my apple tree
you're the honey to my bees

i like the sight of you bareback on that old mare
when i catch you fooling around out in the pasture
i like the way that when you're caught at something you chew your hair
you make the summer go on and on and on

everytime I catch you smile at me
i get so high that i can hardly breathe
you're the apple in my apple tree
you're the honey to my bees

Thanks
I am glad you stopped by my page and left a very cool comment. It compelled me to stop by and listen to some of your tunes. I got as far as ringtone (great song btw) and realized I was listening to some very distinct and catchy pop tunes. I am not a fan of Pop per say, but I am a fan of your brand, it is infectious and very cleverly written. I'll be back for more soon.
Peace
Guy

Barefoot In The Pasture?
I was afraid I'd hear a rhyme for "endure"... Glad you didn't go that route.

What a nice song for your wife. If she's like my wife, she probably hasn't heard this yet, or might be a little concerned that you mentioned her to all those ax murderers on the internet.

Is your twang detectable in your speaking voice or do you turn it on to charm the song? It works for me, as it's another one of those elements that puts the whole scene before me.

I like the guitar outro. You could play lead guitar for my band. Vic Holman is already my drummer.

lol
lol yeah she accepts tempie as one of my (many) eccentricities. She does listen though, mostly because my daughter makes her play it sometimes in the truck. i keep threatening to get her to do backup vocals...

the twang is authentic. i normally reign it in but thought i could get away with it on this one...

On and on and on....
This is a cracking track. This is my favourite vocal of yours to date. Instrumentation is typically layered, complex yet never too much.
Another one for my iPod.

although slightly mutated a la beck or ween, but with more warmth.
this will go on my ipod.

summer
there'd be no pop without summer...

my first records were Michael Jackson's Off the Wall and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. They both sound as good today as they did then :)

BTW i'm getting much play out of your last surf tune. Great great stuff.

Really fine tue
you crafted here - a lot of cool stuff going on. Reminds me a bit of Nick Lowe and some of his cohorts. Excellent playing and producing - and the vox and lyrics are right on too. Please provide more info regarding instrumentation etc.

Sweet
I like the funky twangy rhythm guitars. Very interesting how you lightly layer the heavy distorted guitars in the chorus. But you don't let it overwhelm the cleaner tone. Excellent instrumental outro.

More cool lyrics. Marry the right women and summer is endless.
