Description
I came across a watercolor illustration at drawn.ca, a blog site for illustrators and graphic designers (check it out if your in the business), it was a woman with a kite. Kind of whimsical. That pretty much gave me the idea for the story. The album art is one of my own, not the illustration that inspired this. copyright stuff, ya know.
Of course the clouds around my area are only dropping snow...... way to much!

Lyrics
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy tries to the catch the clouds
with a day-glo kite
Amy hangs wet clothes
on the line to dry
beyond the sky
to touch the clouds
with a kite
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy loves to daydream
but the skies are clear
she could ride a cloud
she's almost there
a hand to the clouds
and the moon and stars
with out stretched arms
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy's Chasing Clouds
someone thought they saw
a girl in the clouds
someone found a kite
on the branch of a tree
I shield my eyes
to the skies
i see footprints in the clouds
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Chasing Clouds
Amy tries to the catch the clouds
with a day-glo kite
Amy hangs wet clothes
on the line to dry
beyond the sky
to touch the clouds
with a kite
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy's Chasing Clouds
Amy loves to daydream

she's almost there
a hand to the clouds

Thanks for leading me to that website. Could come in handy. I'm thinking of moving more in the direction of illustration than just graphic design, so I'll be sure to check out this one.
Interesting to know how you get ideas for songs Vic. I don't think I ever get my ideas to songs like that... Usually I start with playing some licks on the guitar and after messing around a bit a melody or chord patterns appear, and I start to work more constructive with it, to make it a song, if I feel there is a potential for one. The lyrics almost always come after the chords and melody are in place.
You made a new cool Vic Holman song with the expected cool guitars and vocals:) Great production. I think I hear some Beatles influences in those harmonies.
Do you use that special panning effect that logic offers on your acoustic guitar, or have you recorded two guitars with a delay on one of them? I find that effect pretty cool when used alone or if won't make a conflict with other (rhythm) elements. I feel a slight distraction from it especially in the beginning of the song, but I guess it may be a matter of taste;)
