Description
I've been waiting to put this up so that it will still be visible when the last days of the Bush Presidency come to an end. Unfortunately I'm going to have to find something else to inspire my song writing now that both Bush and our very own "Man of Steel" Johnny Howard have left the political scene.
The usual country leads, pithy words and breathy vocals played/sung using the usual instruments and the usual setup.
I hope you like it!
Neil

Knock ‘Em Down
© 2008 Neil Porter
Its time to knock down some big statue
Lock some folks in a foreign jail
Make some playing cards with stupid names and photos
Lock ’em up, knock ‘em down
You set the whole world up for failure
Changed it all for you and me
Even down here in Australia
Your demise looks good to me
Lock ’em up, knock ‘em down
Just keep them out of my town
Lock ’em up, and throw away the key
Sounds like justice to me
SOLO ON VERSE
Lock ’em up, knock ‘em down
Just keep them out of my town
Lock ’em up, and throw away the key
Sounds like justice to me
We don’t share and care no more
We just add and we subtract
We’ve come so far down this bumpy road
I can’t see us turning back
Corporate bosses fly their jet planes
Sell their workforce down the drain
I’m so hopeful that the new guy
Won’t let this by again
Lock ’em up, knock ‘em down
Just keep them out of my town
Lock ’em up, and throw away the key
Sounds like justice to me
CHORDS: Play along (you know you want to)
Intro: Am x 4
Verse:
| C | Gmaj+4 | A/Gm7 | A/Gm7 | x 2
| C | Gmaj+4 | A/Gm7 | Gmaj+4 |
| F | F | G | | G |
Chorus:
| F | F | C | C | x 2
| F | F | C | G | Am | Am | Am | Am |
