Takes me back (no, not to the 20's LOL), but to my youth when I loved this song. I just had to keep listening to this in anticipation of the next variation, (not that I ever needed to be forced). Great version of an old song, played with the touch of a Maestro, cheers M Check out my latest song called Come Back Billie

Lovely You are a master. This is such lovely playing. I've been trying to record a song which is just guitar and voice, thereby exposing every fluff I make (nothing to hide behind!) and it just makes me admire your skill and talent even more! This put a big smile on my face. Thanks for sharing this. Kudos. Peace. Check out my latest song called Across the Wire (MJRF)

one again... you astound me. as a young player, jazz was always one of those forms which seemed far too complex for my primative grasp. now, as an older player, with many years and many songs under my belt, i find that jazz is far too complex for my primative grasp. your fingerstyle is so smooth and effortless, your students must feel honored to have even 20 minutes learning your technique. thank you for this wonderful example of how the guitar should be played. Well I only have a few students learning anything remotely like this. Most are doing Zep,Beatles,Weezer, Nirvana or whatever their fav band is.I can usually figure out anything by ear pretty fast- fortunately no one has ever brought in one of your solos. That would take me a really long time to tab out! If you want to learn some jazz riffs copy some Charlie Christian solos. It's not as complicated as you think! Check out my latest song called Blues in Bm

well played! i'd love to try and learn this, not only because it sounds like it takes serious chops to play, but there's so much going on. popular music today doesn't even come close to this depth. really enjoyed this post. it almost has a melancholy vibe to it. maybe that's just because you mentioned it was a depression-era tune. I guess .. .. this style of song was meant to cheer people up, but there's a real irony in how you play the melody. You know its supposed to be happy music, but somehow you've also brought out the sadness of the time in your playing. I've been studying a Robben Ford "Blues Guitar for Idiots" style video this week, and it focusses on chords in lead arrangements, so I'm especially impressed in your use of chords here. Great playing as always. Neil Check out my latest song called Lost In Translation (w Mike Watkins)

Love this tune This has always been a favorite tune of mine. I can remember my Dad humming this tune and twiddling it on the piano by ear. Also played it in a big band. Leave it to you to do a most tasteful guitar interpretation. You always play so cleanly, string scrapes are next to none. Attention to the details gives us these beauties. Can always depend on a good tune from you, one of favorite guitarists here at macjams. Check out my latest song called Tea and Scones

Our Resident Guitar Virtuoso It sounds like your hand is doing all right..????? is it.... you don't just play the notes... you know how what it's like when you hear someone who is technically perfect and completely lacking... how do you teach them to feel and interpret inside of the piece... when it nothing more than an excersize for them... in spite of your obvious technical excellence... you also include the most important ingredient Scott Check out my latest song called Good Morning

Life can be so sweet… This is great… I'd love to hear more standards on this site… the "no covers" policy usually stops people from posting them, but playing standards is, well, pretty standard in jazz, so I see no reason not to do them, especially if they are as old as this one. You play so well, and with such impeccable taste! Check out my latest song called Scarlet Nightfall
