Description
Just a sweet little ditty about when we love someone TOO much, and it's unrequited. Sometimes, it can get really unhealthy.

Lyrics
geoffrey

walked into your house
as if i'd always lived there
knew where the kitchen was and the bedroom too
'cause i had dreamt of this place all my life
and i knew just what i had to do

but you kept me on a leash and i
i didn't have the key so i

i tiptoed around
as if it were all new to me
politely asked you for a glass of chardonnay
you said you were out i said
check behind the quinoa and bread and butter pickles
i guess i gave myself away

you kept me on a leash and i
i didn't have the key

please set me free
just let me be
oh please oh please oh please set me free
geoffrey

you see inside my twisted mind
and you know my secrets
but guess what i know yours too
i've seen the box of memories where you keep
trophies and candies and stained glass picture frames
and i've smelled your shampoo

so don't keep me on this leash please
give me the key

please set me free
just let me be
please give me the key
geoffrey

Stacey
I love your voice on this, quietly passionate.

I don't usually gravitate to songs with names in them, but this one does it so delicately, and saying "Geoffrey" seems necessary to this song.

I wish I could mix/produce my songs like this. What talent!

Excellent song
I could here a band coming into this half way through. But, I also think the stripped down version is fitting.

Cool stuff,
Dave

Dave's right....
..this COULD take to a "kick-in" moment halfway through, and take a band treatment. Doesn't have to, not at all, but it could... And it COULD be recorded even barer and drier and it would still sound great....

Stacey, you are two really solid things: You're a really strong, original and personal lyricist, and you're a gifted writer of melody. That makes you a really good songwriter.

But then there's the other bit: You've got a great voice, and you match it well to the songs you write... So that makes you a strong singer....

So even if there's things to learn around the edges, like how many milliseconds of reverb to put on a song, or what to pan where, or the proper picking pattern for a particular song... If you've got the lyrics and melody down and you're delivering them with that voice, you're starting from one enviable place...

This is really solid, really great...

I really
like the trill of your vocal flow. I know that sounds weird, essentially your range is really pleasing and the urgency in your delivery is good for the song.

Thoughtfull and caressing
I love what you have done vocally with this track. It's so sad yet thoughtful. You caress the high notes perfectly and it works so well you didn't do them with power. The guitar is great too. 100% bravo on this one!
