Description
"Still, She Weeps" is the latest version of "Ember-Rekindled", an open collaboration piece by Drakonis. The original piece is here, and links to many other Macjammer's versions are on Drakonis' artist page.
In late September, Alannah suggested a kind of "charred-Ember". Eduard encouraged me to write some lyrics. Then, he did a great deal of tweaking of his own fine work, "Ember-Rekindled". I began singing versions in October, 2008. I was hoping I could get a better microphone so there wouldn't be so much noise for him to clean up. My finances were directed elsewhere and I didn't sing again until a couple days ago, still using the same mic. Drakonis is the producer. In many ways, he did all the work. To quote him, "I am excited for you to have your song on your page!" As for me, I am petrified. Thank you for coming by to listen.
Thank you, Eduard for your time, skill, patience and friendship.

Lyrics
Lyrics:
Still, she weeps, quietly.
All that she knew, now is gone.
Her past life, it won't be fixed.
All of those lies were so wrong.
Weeping in the morning light;
Sleeping with a crystal-lined face;
What is left, for her to fight?
There never was a love to replace.
She has learned, finally.
Each new day, must be lived through.
There is some hope, she can see,
And her faith, she will renew.
New-found paths, she can cross;
Bold escapes, down avenues;
Simple gifts, absolve all loss;
To bring untold revenues.
Now she sings, happily.
Grief distilled, as a new song.
A brighter life, now transfixed;
She'll stay strong, forever long.
(whispered)
Still, she weeps, quietly.
But these are now, happy tears.
Still, she weeps, quietly,
Until there's no more need for tears.

Dang, Alannah beat me to the "Charred Ember" joke!
This is lovely Char ... your voice is intense and deeply heartfelt, and very lovely. I'm envious of the precision with which you hit every pitch so cleanly and clearly.
Drakonis's original piece is a magical work, as evidenced by the number of beautiful songs that have risen out of it over the years, and this is a very fine addition to the range. Well done both of you, you should be proud. :)
