Description
Following on from the demo version I've had a few days to delve, in depth, to Logic Express 8 and all its wonderful power. The first version I've posted here a few days ago was little more than an an exercise in recording LE8. I've now looked into how buses work, how to reroute signals and control feedback the way I want it. The result is a version of Poppy's Kiss that I'm very happy with.
I've also listened to my very good friend Tempie's advice and added more of everything!. In fact this version is almost entirely re-recorded form the original version. I've added another distorted guitar and some acoustic in the background. I've re-recorded the bass and vocals and then routed it all through some lovely Platinum Verb.
Even compression down to MP3 doesn't seem to have wrecked the overall atmosphere. This version feels harder and more in keeping with the original purpose behind the piece. Anyone else fancy a J&MC homage?

ah man this is great! love the drums way back in a hole and the distortion washing over everything. this is exactly the sound that i was imagining. what a great job on the production. Should be on a J&MC tribute album. Also meant to mention before but really love the title "poppy's kiss" - just sounds like a J&MC song title. I get that it could be about drugs but I like to think its about a girl named "poppy" - what a cool 80's indie name for a girl.
