Permission to Dive (MJRF)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Welcome to the 2005 MJRF stage. This is the second song I ever posted, written in GB. I imported it into Logic today and cleaned it up, but my guitar playing was beyond repair ... thankfully, I no longer have to play due to the wonders of collabs.

4 years.... wow they've flown by ... ready for an oldie...!

pedal to the metal
excellent revision!

I always liked this song.

Back last summer there was a cover song competition here. This one I was considering. But you where on hiatus so no way to get permission. But hearing this remix there is no way I could come close.

Woot!!

.. jumps around manically .. I think your guitar playing in this is more than fine, great tone, tight .. nothing wrong with it at all! (what is he on about?)

Excellent, catchy indie, alternative pop rock number .. I might have to do a song called "consent to snorkel" now ;o)

Greast stuff Steve - start the festival with a bang u did.

And the crowd goes bananas!!

Great to hear those loud pipes of yours. This sounds really good Steve. Did you send the guitar to PVD to repair? Sounds good to me.

Steve,

I didn't know you were a submariner. I have friends in the Navy but it's scary to go into the depths. You never know what you might run into. Plus I don't like the smell of the sea anyway...it smells too fishy.

Great tune though!

Cool
I'm trying to figure what band this tune reminds me of, and i think its like a mix of Morrissey, Rolling Stones, Cure, and B-52s. Maybe a little Pixies. Wow what a mix!!

LOL This song is adorable!!!! (in a sexy, manly way).

I LOVE it. Best concept for a song I've heard in a while.

Reminds me a little of Lou Reed.

Yeh Steve
Everything that I love about you wrapped up in a perfect song for MJRF... perfectly catchy, which is a good thing... laced with enough testoserone to be authentic... you always sound so familiar and comfortable... like a stage would be your natural habitat... if some of us tried to pul this off, we would sound like posers...

I love the live setting... why didn't I think of that...

Fan-tastic
Nowt wrong with your guitar playing Steve, but I know what you mean ... my guitar has been gathering dust since I hooked up with Mr L.

This is lovely.

You're a very talented fella and you've no idea how smug I am about being your first fan here on MJ!

Lovely jubbly. Great vocal, and really excellent, witty lyrics. The guitar sounds good to me; you're too hard on yourself, man! The sound on this is excellent; you really got this nicely polished and sweet as a nut. Very cool. 4 years does go by fast. As Townes Van Zandt once said - time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana. Nice job, dude. Kudos. Peace.

I would listen to you...
...sing the phonebook. I'd listen to you sing a menu. Hmmm. In fact, I may have just the menu in mind.... I'd toss a bunch of random words up in the air and have you sing 'em however they fall...

I really like the guitar on this. It's reminding me of something, something that I like, but I can't come up with what... It'll probably pop into my head while I'm cooking lunch or something...

Sounds great...

What a great track Steve - this just kills. Fantastic fat bass and perfect open snare sound. Too much good stuff going on here. Now I realize how much I've missed your stuff lately. I remember when you used to post magic like this on a regular basis.

Fantastic
Guitar has a great hesitant live sound, I can see you bopping around the stage thrashing the guitar, overcast sky. The crowd are crushing, you're on your knees, the crowd are licking the stage. Various coloured panties float onto the stage...
Love it swell stuuuuuuuff
