Description
A song I posted in 2008 (The year I left as "Alimar"and rejoined MacJams as "LMR").

It quite simply means, "It Is What It Is." Appropriately what I've become philosophically in 2008, so I chose that year to pull a song from. This is the CD version.

As "Alimar" in April of 2004 is when I first joined. It was an epiphany when GarageBand was released. I never knew I had it in me to produce music at all. After posting 20 songs in two weeks, I was officially welcomed here by Tobin Mueller, and in the following four years, I collaborated with at least fifty MJers. Its been an enlightening experience, and I've met a plethora of fabulous people. My participation had been hindered by a considersble loss of vision. I hope to continue to be an active member once again.

Peace,
Alimar (A.K.A. - "LMR")

What it is....
is... superb mate. Rich orchestration that Rimsky would be proud of! Excellent dynamics... good use of sonic space. I am a relative newcomer - so it's great to hear your older stuff, as well as what you've done lately. Inspiring... and I hope you are able to be more involved in the near future.

Magnificence
Your ability to create dense, dynamic, interesting, unexpected, complex orchestral gems like this one using a pencil tool remains one of the great mysteries of life.

Your courage remains one of the great inspirations of life.

Like many here, I am in awe of you, Al.

Transparent lightness of being
Love the lightness and clarity of the digital orchestra. Your years of study shown thru.

Al, can you repost some of your early progressive rock too? It all disappeared with your old name. Especially THE LAST DAY, SIRENS, and IS THERE ANY PEACE ANYMORE? My favorites...

ok - first, everything futzpucker said. Second, you are such an inspiration to me to keep trying things in orchestration. You are such a role model Al, for how beautifully orchestrated music CAN sound. So great to see you around

"It Is What It Is."
A difficult situation happened not to long ago at my job. One of my chiefs said the exact same thing. Only from minds of people who can read beyond my abilities. All I can say Alimar is that your music has touched me just like so many more. Thanks for sharing during the four years I've been here. And did I mention what a fine piece of work this is.

This is really a terrific piece.
Classical and contemporary are the musical driving forces in me, and this big cinematic orchestral sound is really inspiring... great to hear it here.

I too have found that the software available has empowered me as a composer and a graphic artist that would never have manifested using tools of the earlier traditions.

wow
sorry i'm so late to the game on this one. I am incredibly glad you reposted this for the reunion. I remember it as one of the first songs I listened to when coming to MacJams and loving every second of it. You are an amazing talent. The best thing about this composition, in my humble opinion, is the incredible dynamic range which just took me through an entire range of emotions and images. There is hope and joy in this complex piece. Your use of instrumentation is creative and perfect. I love this song.

Ceaselessly amazing
Mr. Ligammari, you accomplishments in this arena are simply astounding. Some people simply have it, and you have it in spades. This piece demonstrates the inventiveness, creativity, and mastery that continually stuns the listener, especially when you know your history in arriving at these talents. Bravo, sir!
