Description
Kristyjo posted this really nice instrumental awhile back, it was a solo flute and I really loved it. she was kind enough to let me play around with it. I was actually pretty leery of trying to add anything to it as it was so nice, but i decided to go ahead and do something. I have been having a really bad creative block lately, and this was really a nice space for me to get into.

i used kristyjo's flute, one of the buddha machine loops that are available online, and then some snippets of things i had created. i also used Augustus Loop in this one as I had purchased it, but never got around to playing with it. thanks kristyjo, hope you like this.

This is great...
I'm so glad she let you experiment with her flute sounds.... you have done something very tasteful with them here. This sort of progresses on from the cello/theramin.... and perhaps we can do more in the series!

yeah
i would love that. haven't really been in the pop songwriting mode lately, and I would love to do some more soundscape types of things. have actually been a little out of it as of late. never happens to me, i always write no matter what, and yet it eludes me as of late. haven't even been listening to any music really. i will snap out of it though. thanks so much for the listen and I am really happy that you liked it.

I'm Dling some Buddha tracks from bud - looking forward to playing with it, but this is wonderful - light and spacey. A beautiful mystery.

Beautiful
Although I have to admit this is the type of music that I find difficult to comment on, I shall still take an attempt at it. It brings me into a visual dream listening to it, like a movie without any photography. I am currently having a Chinese film period, and this would fit into many situations, and scenes. I personally got an underwater image, perhaps because of the sounds used. All the sounds melt into one and each other building a massive, thick (at times frightening) image.

Indigenous space.
Sorry to hear about your writer's block. The soundscape is deep and beautiful. The picture suggests the loneliness of space. In my humble O, flute does not go along with the title, the picture, or the ambient backdrop. This would probably work well without the flute (nothing against Kristy's beautiful piece). But then, I'm partial to ambient space drone. I hope you will do more ambient. You've obviously got the knack for it.

cool
the picture definitely suits the sounds. really well done you two. will enjoy this when it comes up on my 'music to draw to' playlist.
Hey michael, I hear you man. Doesn't sound like you're too concerned but don't sweat it. As you say you'll snap out of it. I went through a period not too long ago where I couldn't listen to ANYTHING let alone my own stuff, and every time I sat down to play I had no motivation. That usually never happens to me. I think it's normal though. usually you come back stronger than you were before. Can't wait till that happens for you. Good to see you around here again.

it seems
that people with strong pop musical sensibility does the best ambient songs also.
it has the stars of the lid feel surely. But it is also remind me of the ambient side of Sigur Ros.
Downloaded and fav´d.

Nice work!
Excellent mix with Kristyjo's flute. Good ambient piece! I had the trial version of Augustus (G)Loop but it turned me down before the final mix of the song I was working on so I had to try and recreate by myself...

Thanks for the download! Actually, in my iTunes list I can't see the effect of your creative block just yet :-)

a odd piece from you Mike ....THis is a really good sound scape...... as you know...:) I feel ya on the music block thing all tho Im in my making music cycle right now ...its an odd block that comes from time to time to me . I then find no joy in music at all . It just seems to frustrate me .....but then I come out of it with some great creativity ....maybe some kind of nero path growth thing ? Who knows ! I like this piece man .........Thanx for the soothing afternoonn listen :)

wow-
This is so awesome! You've given such a wonderful ambient soundscape for my little flute ditty to ride along in. It's SO relaxing. At first I thought of underwater, but it's more 'spacey' as I listen to it evolve. Great reworking, and I'm glad this piece helped give you a space to be creative. (Oh- and thanks for sharing the reactions of your daughter. That's really neat.)

Wonderfully
calming and relaxing Michael. Kristyjo's flute is full of peace and tranquility as is, but when place into this, it takes on a whole new dimension. Wonderfully ethereal.

incredibly
creative and imaginative, meditative and soothing, great trance-inducing soundscape and a really cool combination of genres - the Native American flute and the spacey trance ambience. cool stuff.

I was in same boat creatively when I started messing with the Buddha Machine - it's a very therapeutic tool. I love what you did with KJ's flute. Excellent meeting of the minds.

Hi
Did not know what to expect but I am downloading this one and adding to my ambient playlist on itunes. Very relaxing and meditative. I would like to offer some critique but I really like it just the way it is. Maybe some ambient noise in the background (i.e., rain or ocean)?

Floating
Lovely piece. The flute is off somewhere in the distance, weaving in and out of my aural field of vision, meanwhile I'm contemplating the planets floating by. Lovely.
