Description
Today is my MJ Anniversary!

I sat on this for a month waiting for this event to start. The other tunes I did for the project were just place holders to keep me busy while I waited to submit this song.

It's a song about a dead end job I had for over seven years.

This is my second and most redone song at MJ.

It includes: hand pecked percussion; added some lines adapted from a recent song; added a much needed solo bridge varied from the original chord progression (I actually think I did alright on the guitar parts); adapted and restored the original ending.

I really enjoyed doing this one. I felt the music so well, it's like I couldn't finish... I was actually a little sad when I finished.

I would like to get together with a bunch of you and perform this in grand style on a stage, if that were possible.

Lyrics
I've been on the Line
all of the time
all of the time

I'm drinking beer
every year
every year

I'm alone
don't use the phone
don't use the phone

Jim's got my card
I'm workin' too hard
I'm workin'

And I know
Yeah, I know
I'm not exactly right

Don't blame me
Please don't blame me
If I put up a fight

Say goodbye to old Jim Larkin
when I'm gone
when I'm gone

Yes, it makes me want to go back and pick a few of my old tunes and mess the hell out of them. That seems to be the only way to open some of them up. Thanks for the warm wishes!

Thank you Miss C
This is my most successful finger tapped percussion. I used to play a bit of drums in my twenties.

Glad you like it!

I like
the guitar reminds me of CSN. Really enjoy the the slow build to the experimental/epic finish. Works well with your pensive lyrics.

Thanks Christopher!
I had this put together acoustically then built it up. It was a trial and error. Yeah, my wife thinks the acoustic sounds a bit like some of Neil Young's. I'll take what I can get! :)

The lyrics are deep from another era in my life.

Thanks man!

sounds great
the acosutic bass aganst the steelstring....the melancholic bluesy vocal is perfect....conjures images of dusty towns n rundown motels..country hiways and byways.....the moaning electric is a good effect......bravo!

Hey Mr. McBoy!
My wife also noticed the pairing of the bass and my old Fender. I really enjoyed making the guitar cry a bit. I haven't had luck getting different emotions from it. In fact, I hadn't planned on putting any vocals during that segment. But when I played it, I couldn't help but sing to it! I hope nobody understands what I sang there, 'cause it doesn't make too much sense...

Thanks for stopping by!

Great
Love this - great song, and I'm grinning ear to ear at the idea of a bunch of us jamming this on stage! I see the Neil YOung vibe, but honestly this really sounds like you and you alone. Love the guitar - great sound - and the build up is superb. This totally swept me away. Very cool. Nicely done, man. Kudos. Peace.

Hey David
Thanks, Man! I think the most fun for me was redoing it a few times. It really expands the possibilities. This may not be professional grade, but sure a good time for me!

Thanks for the vote of originality!

If I played well...
...I'd get up on stage with ya! You play and sing from a heart-felt style. The song has a melancholy feel to it... probably because its intent. You get very powerful at times. The sonic quality as far as tonal range is good. I might only suggest a small mixing idea... centering your voice at times, and panning the guitars to break up the mood a bit.

Peace,
Alimar

Thank you, sir!
Thank you for the generous comments. Because of the help I'm getting from you and others, here, I'm able to focus a bit more on expression rather than losing it in production.

You are certainly welcome on stage! Sounds like you are suffering from a bit of humble-ness. ;)

I'll bring my bass!
I can hear why this is the jewel in your MJRF set. You have a way of setting a real mood in your songs. Love the segué into the 3/4. Reminiscent in one particular transition between chords (around 3:19) of Suite Judy Blue Eyes. Thanks for posting this at the MJRF - top post.

Nice
Out of the 3 you posted for the festival, this is my favorite. Very Neil Young-ish. Don't hate me for the critique. I think your vocal would have sounded better in this with a lot less reverb. It kinda gets lost. Needs to be more up front and personal.
