Daniel's note:
Some of you might be familiar with Michael Jay Klein's wonderful Jazz vocals (goes by Uncle Moe on iComps). I was thrilled when sent me this piece and allowed me to add to it. What a great time I had. It's been a while since I tried to do something like a jazz standard but I tried to tread lightly and add tastefully. I added a guitar line, which goes into a venetian tremolo at a certain point. The bass is also real! I was initially going to do it on a keyboard - then thought why not keep it authentic - so I had a go with my DB. It was somewhat audacious of me to add vocals - but I've been studying his vocal work and couldn't resist the opportunity. I wanted it to keep it traditional - but with a luna glow perhaps.
Moe's Note:
I was delighted that Daniel asked if he could add his inestimable talents to this recording of mine. Daniel, it was a great pleasure and your work has me beaming here! Mind you, all he got from me was my voice and the piano. Everything else you hear is the master at work.
You may be familiar with that old phrase, "The melody lingers on." It came from this song.
Thank you so very much and thanks all for listening!
Take good care now,
Michael
Vocals: Michael Jay Klein (aka Uncle Moe)
Vocals, Guitar, Bass: Daniel Staniforth (AKA Luna Trick)
Piano: Alan McPike
Song composed by Irving Berlin
