Description
I've been playing this progression of chords for a long time, but never made a song out of it. Usually I play it in E but there's a few songs that use a similar progression in that key so I used a capo on the second fret instead. Anyway, it's a pretty simple progression but I've always been intrigued by the mood it relays. It has a kind of suspended uneasiness about it. Oh - I couldn't figure out anything good for the bassline so I kept it very very simple. It's actually kinda crappy. If anyone wants to lay something down a little more complex, please let me know and I'll send you a bassless version.
The freaky bubbling water sounds were made with my guitar, a ton of reverb & echo and the KT Granulator. I wanted to go for a similar water sound to what The Beatles used in 'Yellow Submarine', but a little more spaced out.
Feedback and suggestions welcome.

Lyrics
You're such a pessimist
Cuz that's what's in demand
The cynics will surround you with their praise
So make another plan
The money is in hand
To pay off all the dead men
You have raised
So make the rain come
and take this all away
Make the rain come down
and take it all away
I can make you love me if you don't know
Cuz that's what's in demand
The cynics will surround you with their praise
So make another plan

To pay off all the dead men
You have raised
So make the rain come

... is a friend of name (we named out dog Marv). Wonderful chord sequence, and your voice sounds pure and clear - the harmonies, well, you gotta teach me how you did those. Sparse but full, this has a contempory feel, with a little bit of 60s mixed in.
