Description
an 80's R&B/new wave influenced indie pop tune about middle school love. kind of exuberant and sad at the same time, because that's how it felt. but of course i'm looking back on it, maybe that's not how it felt at the time.

Lyrics
We kissed for the first time
in the bus on a field trip
in the museum we held hands on the sly
behind the dinosaur bones and fossils
she gave me a rabbit foot
she said it was for us for luck
she took it from a keyring in her purse
after she got the keys unstuck
My Angel of the Suburbs
(Amy)
My Angel of the Suburbs
We went a little farther
in the dark on the way back
to our parents waiting in the parking lot
beside the football field and track
we buttoned up and tucked in
before the driver turned the lights on
we grabbed our jackets and we stood up from our seats
and I followed her down the aisle
My Angel of the Suburbs
(Amy)
in the bus on a field trip
in the museum we held hands on the sly
behind the dinosaur bones and fossils
she gave me a rabbit foot
she said it was for us for luck
she took it from a keyring in her purse
after she got the keys unstuck
My Angel of the Suburbs
(Amy)
My Angel of the Suburbs
We went a little farther
in the dark on the way back
to our parents waiting in the parking lot
beside the football field and track
we buttoned up and tucked in
before the driver turned the lights on
we grabbed our jackets and we stood up from our seats
and I followed her down the aisle
My Angel of the Suburbs

But you didn't marry her.
Hey Tempie, this has changed quite a bit since the last version I heard (yeah, we're buddies and he emails me all the time just checking in on me or sharing song ideas and sometimes asking me for advice about women... the usual stuff)
Your soulful and relaxed, gravely vocal was a surprise to me. It's very expressive and almost Tina Turner-like, but in a manly way - more manly than Tina Turner you ask? Yes. Really sounds great. I think it was the right choice, although the original version had that whole "nanny nanny boo boo" playground banter feel and I liked it. This posted version is better to me.
My favorite part? When your guitar comes blazing in with that smoking lead and that super funky thumping bass line and those zinging swirling synths! What a great sound! I also like your synth sounds that drizzle in about halfway. What I miss about this is that flute sound you had at the end that just trailed off into oblivion or should I say a minute of silence. Were you just reflecting?
Killer track dude.
