Lyrics
That certain night, the night we met,
there was magic abroad in the air,
there were angels dining at the Ritz
and a nightingale sang in Berkley Square.

I may be right, I may be wrong,
but I'm perfectly willing to swear
that when you turned and smiled at me
a nightingale sang in Berkley Square.

The moon that lingered over London town,
poor puzzled moon he wore a frown,
oh how could we know we two were so in love!
The whole wide world seemed upside down.

The streets of town were paved with stars,
it was such a romantic affair,
and as we kissed and said good bye,
a nightingale sang in Berkley Square ...

Beautiful
Beautiful arrangement, exquisite singing. Really superb musicianship.

For the record, this is well-known romantic British popular song with lyrics by Eric Maschwitz and music by Manning Sherwin and Jack Strachey first published in 1940. It's a jazz standard and many folks did it before Manhattan Transfer (including a marvelous version by Frank Sinatra.)

Wonderful rendition!!
The Manhattan Transfer version of this song is one of my favourite pieces and has had a lot of airplay around our home. Your collaboration is so very well performed, and is a true joy to hear! You have created a fine tribute that holds up well against the original.

Be well,
Doug

I had to come to listen to it here too,
and it's just as wonderful as it was on iComp. Not sure I could pick out the mix changes in this version, but it still sounds fantastic. Very well done my friend, Kudos to you and Martina.
