Thank You It seems no matter how hard I tried I could not get the snare roll to not clash with the rest of the song do you know any technics that could help with that? Any suggestions would be appreciated. The samples come from the movie The Never Ending Story. An all time favorite of my child hood. Thank You For Your Comment Check out my latest song called Atreyu

Rolling This rocked. Some of the distortion is coming from, ironically, recording too loud. If your tracks are going over 0dbs they are going to sound distorted. Better to record at lower volume and put a limiter on the track. This will keep the level under 0db, but allow you to increase the presence of the sound. Also using different EQs on each track will allow each instrument to sit in it's own sound space. I use the preset EQs in Logic to isolate sounds. Makes a big difference. You have a good sense of dynamics though - the build ups and breaks are great. Really liked it. Check out my latest song called Hung Up

Another thought... Do you record each drum - bass drum, snare, tom etc on a seperate track or are they all together on one track. If you seperate them out onto different tracks, you can then apply EQ, compression, limiting etc to each one - thus making each piece of the virtual drum kit standing out. You may well be doing this already. Check out my latest song called Hung Up

Thank you Smokey I am very glad you commented on my song. I did not know anything over 0db will distort the sound. Unfortunatly for the drums I record all the bass snares and hi hats on the track then then repeat with anthother track again and again until I feel they dont sound synthetic anymore. I have tried to do as use suggested the drums but garageband will add a windtunnel effect to my drum loops if I loop them and that is the only way I can run every thing on a different track and my computer go longer than a second without saying garageband unexpectedly quit. Well... Not everything distorts over 0db, but if you keep an eye on the bars and make sure they don't go into the red, you should be fine. Sounds like you need a new computer!!! Maybe you haven't got enough ram in there. Music programmes are very memory and processor hungry... Check out my latest song called Hung Up

.. in my honest opinion. Could benefit from another part (in higher registers) coming in and adding before the 03:30 mark... and the ending was a little lack lustre (drums dropped out ... and then a bar .. then end).
I did like the build in the intro and use of samples (from?)- perhaps the ending could have used one too... as a final reminder of the songs inspiration.
'Drum & bass' isn't a genre a usually listen to.
Mix balance sounds fine, though I thought I detected some clipping at the tail end of the fierce snare roll at 03:35/36.
