Lyrics
Do Not Pity Me
Stop looking at me
And trying to meet my eye
So you can reassuringly smile
Like everything’s gonna be alright
All your good will
Doesn’t fill my belly
Give me something to do
And the tools to do it
Spare me your sympathy
Give me a proper wage
And some respect
If you got any left
I won’t be party to
Your guilt-ridden efforts
To clear your conscience
I won’t absolve you
All your good will
Doesn’t fill my belly
Give me something to do
And the tools to do it
Don’t need forgiveness
Don’t need a blessing
Don’t need your pity
Help me help myself
Do not pity me
Do not pity me
Do not pity me
You can’t accept me as I am
You wish I’d get better
Your wishes feel like judgment
Feels like chastisement
I’m not going away
I’ll be in your face
Everywhere you go
I’ll be there
Stop looking at me
And trying to meet my eye
So you can reassuringly smile
Like everything’s gonna be alright
All your good will
Doesn’t fill my belly
Give me something to do
And the tools to do it
Spare me your sympathy
Give me a proper wage
And some respect
If you got any left
I won’t be party to
Your guilt-ridden efforts
To clear your conscience
I won’t absolve you
All your good will
Doesn’t fill my belly
Give me something to do
And the tools to do it
Don’t need forgiveness
Don’t need a blessing
Don’t need your pity
Help me help myself
Do not pity me
Do not pity me
Do not pity me
You can’t accept me as I am
You wish I’d get better
Your wishes feel like judgment
Feels like chastisement
I’m not going away
I’ll be in your face
Everywhere you go
I’ll be there

really liking that guitar sound as the song comes in and the slow drum beat. your voice sounds perfect for this one. really cool song. the sounds of the other guitars strings moving around is a great touch. this has an almost post punk feel to my ears. great job.
