They Will Come
ominous title and cover art - and the song itself carries through perfectly with that feeling of downright dread! Nice work on the string counter melodies - that are juxtaposing the horns really well - Nice job Mr. B!

Nice Juxtaposition
between the horns and their uneven, almost limping progression, and the flowing quality of the strings. I heard an interesting development too, for as the strings first entered the piece sounded a bit like a requiem, and then as they developed further there was the sense of movement through a mountainous landscape (the up and down pitch of the violins was doing this for me). This landscape then produced the sense of a progression of something ominous, large, powerful, yet unsteady and lumbering, slowly and determinedly working its way toward a likely sinister goal.

Nicely orchestrated, fresh, kept my interest well throughout and full of little musical surprises in the intervals you chose in the melodic lines. Big finish with the blast - did they get there? Sounds like it.

Bravo Charlie! A nice addition to my iTunes.

Keep well,
Doug

Doug
your understanding of and ability to so expressively articulate your thoughts on a work of music is a rare gift and deeply appreciate by me and I'm certain all those who are fortunate to receive it. Thank you so much.

Ominous indeed
I like the brass and percussion undertone to this work. You get a very realistic quality out of the horns. There is a sense of sadness and defeat within this piece. I share your enthusiasm and passion for doing video work and scoring with music. The right music score can bring the visual to life by accentuating the emotion. If I could do that for a living, I'd be a happy man! Thoroughly enjoyed your "Prairie" piece on your bio page...I love "the West".

Super composition...
Late Romantic at the dawn of modernism to my ears... but with your own signature! I love your use of horns... and the subtle timpani stitching it all together. Bravo!

Wonderful music
A really creative, and majestic piece of sound art. That convey's to the listener a feeling of great saddness and despair. As though one is watching a movie and the Hero has just died in battle.
Well done Charlie :)

Portrait of a people
The first strains are familiar but then you make this portrayal of a people entirely your own. And you paint quite a multifaceted picture that is not simple but bursting with elegance and grace, and soaring with power, and pathos. Amazing that you show so much in three minutes!
