Description

I wrote this song around 2004. I felt a little political at the time. This song is for our hard as a rock(physically)soldiers and our Hard As A Rock(mentally)former President George "W." Bush. Hope you all enjoy it. I hope I don't get into trouble using his speech, but I wanted to show how wrong he was from the git go, because pretty much of everything he said in this speech did not come true. Hey, I would never want to be President. Hope you all enjoy this one. I have decided to enable the download for those of you who would like to. Enjoy.

wow!
this song includes a lot of things i musically really like to hear! it contains the basics of the rock/pop feeling i miss on the most of what we hear on radio/tv (uh-oh! damn - turn tv off! ;) )
the sound fx are working here very good! maybe a bit more compression to the final mix (so that it sounds a bit less sharp). it´s one of the songs, that goes to my "favourite" list!

Thanks a bunch Carsten, I tried to take some edge off of it but I think when I originally recorded it I recorded it too loud. It was worse but I fiddled around with it and got it to a level that was intelligible. I got your note and the answer is Yes, definitely. Thanks for listening. I'll get the download set up soon.

yeeeah king, great composition man. great job on mixing and mastering, thats an area that i'm trying to get better at and i'd be completely satisfied if i could get them all sounding like this. everything from the guitar, drums, your voice, to the speeches evokes mental imagery with an energy that demands your attention. i've said goodbye to alot of good friends that have headed over there for a long time, some that i haven't seen in years. i'm sure they'd enjoy and appreciate this alot. again, great work man!

This one should go to 11
Great tune! Evokes a number of the hard rock greats (the vibe and vocals put me in mind of Corrosion of Conformity). The drums are really well put together and the vocals are spot-on.

The bass frequencies are a little "boomy." I think you could get a more powerful mix if you applied some low shelving on the kick/bass/guitar and filled the mid frequencies a little more fully.

Wow, that is a compliment and a half, I haven't met anyone who's heard of C.O.C. around here. I haven't heard that name in ten years. I love them I thought they were an awesome industrial hard rock band.
I was just learning to mix when I did this and I'm still learning. Those suggestions are what I like, they'll help me to try and evolve into a, cleaner, clearer, sound. Oh and there is actually no bass in this song. That's just me and my Ibanez. Thanks for listening Chik
