Nice Noodling
I always look forward to your posts. That was some nice jazzy background music while I picked up around the house. Thanks for posting.

It really is hard to believe sometimes...
...that you're not playing some huge jazz guitar on these things...

Anyway, let me clue you in to something, Mark--a person does one thing on a guitar... If he plays a melody, he plays a melody. If he plays a chord, he plays a chord. If he plays a harmony, someone ELSE plays the melody... That kind of thing. There are rules. Unions. Stuff like that.

I wasn't
aware of these rules Ed, but thanks for letting me know.I will continue to break these rules but I am changing my name to Ibtele to disguise my identity in case the folk police get wind of my operation.

Dude...
...the folk police have been on to you since that bluegrass version of 'Sweet Child O' Mine'... They're just waiting for the perfect moment to swoop in.... They ALMOST jumped the gun at 'Rudolph'....

Contrarian Counterpoint
This is incredible! I'm chuckling away at the clever way you combine contrary motion scales in head section, then you just go off into unchartered waters with your solos... great stuff!

I think Ed
Hit the nail on the head with his comments and ... what else can I say except ' how many fingers do you have and how wide do thy span?' Sounds like there are a few things going on here, all at the same time.... brilliant as always, cheers M

Couldn't agree more
great playing - thinking - playing - thinking. Well I guess you do both at the same time. Would that be ptlhaiyniknigng?
Can't wait to hear what you do with Detroit. See that? Already pimping.

if a trio was playing. You have got to be quite an expert to make all of this sound so easy. Thanks.

Masterful
My Mark Stunkel iPod playlist continues to expand by virtue of your virtuosity and your generous nature. Your excellent command of your instrument is compelling and inspiring. Never showy, always serving the song, your playing is a lesson to all of us. Thanks, Mark. Keep playing and recording. You have a huge following here, and I'm for sure one of 'em.

difference is Monk played "weird" notes on purpose- most of mine are mistakes!

Are you trying
to put bass players out of work? Ed is (as usual) correct .... there are RULES!

As always, I'm dumbfounded by the way you play - I shake my head in wonder at stuff I would be pleased to play as a solo ... and then you fill in the rest of the band too.

Bet you can't play drums at the same time as well :)

Excellent stuff Mark (and what Patrick said too!).

MotionMaster Mark
Like monkeys climbing all over the jungle trees, you fingers climb all over your fretboard, many places, all at the same time giving us the happy, harmonious results.

Tasty noodles!
Noodles? Your noodles are tasty indeed. Must be whole grain. Very natural, not too processed. LOL at the "background music" comments between you and Elevator_Funk at the top of the list. If it makes you feel better, I'm giving this tune my full attention as I remain hard at work on my procrastination project.
