Yes, there are many forgotten hymns. We hope to help "line out" some of these old Gospel songs, for those that appreciate them, at a new site Schletty is developing -- www.radio-hymnal.com. It's just a shell, so far. We need time, resources, coding talent and vocal talent to help populate the site with hymns from c. 1850-1950. Suggestions welcome. Lyrics
Lead Me to Calvary

Words by Jennie E. Hussey, Music by William J. Kirkpatrick, 1921

King of my life, I crown Thee now,
Thine shall the glory be;
Lest I forget Thy thorn crowned brow,
Lead me to Calvary.

Chorus
Lest I forget Gethsemane,
Lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
Lead me to Calvary.

Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid,

Tenderly mourned and wept;

Angels in robes of light arrayed

Guarded Thee whilst Thou slept.

Chorus

Let me like Mary, through the gloom,

Come with a gift to Thee;

Show to me now the empty tomb,

Lead me to Calvary.

Chorus

May I be willing, Lord, to bear

Daily my cross for Thee;

Even Thy cup of grief to share,

Thou hast borne all for me.

Chorus

Jack, thank you for asking me to sing on this. Rich, thank you for your mixing skills. I sang this with a major head cold, so please excuse the nasal quality.

dear Feter....

such a gracious post you have made here. "Honest hearts" in song only by the grace of God... that
is my reply and, I would think, the reply of R & R. Thank you.

I have a blues song idea I am working on... and hope to send your way for your magic. But be patient; I am slow to make these things happen.

The road to the Skull

Jack, you did such a great job getting this started with your exquisite guitar and vox tracks. I had no choice but to sing the song with emotion.

And Roxy -- your voice is the right counterbalance to our dusty, musty men voices. Cold or no cold -- your singing is always endearing.

I have heard a lot of hymns

But never this one. The message is clear, and covers Christ in sacrifice by death on the cross, His resurrection in a new life, and a commitment by those whom accept, to follow Him.

Amen

good one guys
some of these old hymns have such timeless melodies. It's pretty sweet getting to sing songs that have been around for decades, sometimes centuries and have them still be relevant. thanks for this one guys.
