Description
Here is my latest attempt at recording acoustic. The blue snowball mic sounds way better than my old Shure SM58 setup. This song is also complete with a cheesy orchestra behind the music. Everyone's gotta have one.

vocals
this song was originally written for a female vocalist. I'll take a stab at it on the next mix maybe and see if I can bring it justice.
Thanks,

Lovely rich sound seeing as it's mostly acoustics.
Great interplay between the guitars.
Just one note, the bass drum feel a bit too high or hard ..but everything else sounds lush.
Can't wait to hear some vocals on it
Great tune

Bass
Yeah, I totally agree on the bass drum. In fact it sounds out of time because it is so up front. I'd like to soften it and put less in - remix time.

Thanks

Well Sir
I love the sound you got during the intro for sure! Very very cool! I could listen to that strum and accent all day!

I'd love to hear you flesh out the drums more. It would sound nice with a full set going on.

Add to that some cool lead (could be electric) and you have a hit. I don't mind the cheesy orch either... It sounds pretty good!

Thanks Mark
This is a very hard song for me to play all the way though. I'll pla with the drums a little and see what comes up.
Thanks for listening.

thanks
My acoustic has a pretty small body and doesn't get a really big sound - this is about the best I've got it sounding so far.

Love it !
Thinking of you.
This sounds so cool, I love the guitar tones, nice melodic music and the synths go great with it.
I'm not an expert , just commenting on how it sounds to my two ears. Very enjoyable ear candy
Thanks for the download.

awesome
love the progression in this and the acoustic sounds great. isn't the snowball amazing? that it can outdo a sm58 blows my mind. cool song, man. the orchestra works really well in this. How'd you do it? Great playing, too btw. Not even sure that this needs vocals. Would make a great intro or interlude on a CD.

snowball
I think the main reason it is outdoing the SM58 is because I don't have a decent mixer or input device. I was always getting a nasty hum I couldn't eliminate. Instead of screwing around I just got the Blue mic - works great for my purposes. Thanks for the referral!
I probably won't add vocals, but I think I do need to remix.

SM58
The SM58 is a tricky mic to get to sound just right. Distance from the mic is more crucial to getting a good sound -- more important than any preamp or mixing desk. Most people tend to use the SM58 too close, and it starts getting muddy (called "Proximity effect"). You've really got to be off the mic by at least 4 inches, but not to far, or it starts getting really thin. If you want a similarly priced mic that's got a nice, clear, smooth response, grab a Sennheiser e835.

I do have to say that I'm really amazed by the sound from the Snowball! There's definitely going to be one or two of those in my mic cabinet soon!

Beautiful!!
I loved the song!! the tones and chord progression make for a beautiful composition. I am surprised a musician of your caliber liked my simple acoustic song. Not cheesy at all
