Description
This is a mix that was put to one side whilst gathering and mixing stuff for myambient project, for next month.

I thought of kids with a telescope, searching the night sky, whilst the backdrop of the universe rotated before their eye but without them noticing.

It's a Dark Ambient piece but with overtones of not-Dark Ambient.

As always, let me know your thoughts and ideas.

Hi Fathom......
Good to see you around. I await your own music being shared with everyone here.

Star Fields #1 is part of a group of new Ambient/Dark ambient pieces that I've been furiously working on towards a free web album that should be available next month (April). Stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by and having a listen.

Dark...or light...
...your description is very apt, Paul. You've GOT to find an animator or someone with an astronomical project into which music like yours can be plugged. You have, once again, carefully plotted out your seconds with precision and a finely-tuned ear. It is always a pleasure to hear your peaceful, galactic soundscapes.
Peace.

Hi Paul........
I'm starting to try and drum up publicity with having an album made freely available in April. When I know the details, I'll post them up here. This may give me some chance of someone hearing my music and wanting to contact me.

This piece came about as a 'wind-down' mix, where I had finished all the final production on my 10 album pieces, zipped them up and typed the info text, and was wanting to finish all the composing, recording and mixing/producing in a smooth way. I put together a theme, multitracked it and lo and behold, Star Fields #1 came out the other end. Lights flashing on a off to boot.

Did I then relax and have a refreshing cup of Earl Grey. You bet your life I didn't.

Take care.

Hi Paul
This is a perfect piece of music with great production, clarity and depth.

What is this about a forthcoming ambient project?

Hi Bryn.....
It's good to hear from you. I've dropped you a note with the Ambient project details.

This piece, as I commented above to Paul, was a coming down to earth after the hectic composing, arranging, recording, mixing, producing cycle I've just gone through.

I'm glad you enjoyed the listen.

Take care.

this is great. what is that fizzy sounding synth? sounds like an old roland i have. i too would love to have your music synced up to some visuals. very cool as always. love how the part that is the "melody" sounds like it is playing itself. very cool.

Reinholt56 said 3191 days ago (March 22nd, 2009)
Hi Michael......
The synth in question is the good old Zebra 2 synth. I tend to use this synth for most of my basic or lead sounds, then firm things up with Atmosphere, Krishna, Sylenth or Kore Free.

I've had fun recently with the Krishna synth so there should be more distinct sounds coming soon.

Take care.

Hi Guitapick......
I'm glad that you got something out of this Ambient ditty.

It was completed at the very end of a long, long week of writing, recording, producing.

Take care.

Starfields
Perfect title for this song. As I listen I can easily visualize the nightsky flooded with stars. I find it interesting how your music moves along outside the normal boundaries of a musical time signature. Changes just kinda happen upon you and it really helps make your piece interesting to listen to. Nice work - thank you for sharing this.

Hi Sigmund......
A good deal of my latest work is based on the 'R56 interspersed theory' where the differences blend and add to rather than detract from the piece as a whole. The brain tries to fit everything together and generally the brain manages this quite well.

I'm fascinated at how much tolerance the brain has, when presented with something that is structurally correct, on one level, but has other layers sounding at the same time.

Take care.

Hi.........
I thank you for your kind thoughts.

Hopefully the video collaborators will listen to my soon-to-be-released free Ambient web album and then flood me with offers. Ha ha ha.

Take care.

This is wonderful ...
definitely drifting and dreamy with little electronic satellite fly-bys to remind us of technology amid the grandeur of the cosmos. Definitely a fave and a d/l. Thank you and cheers. I hope the number one in the title means there might be more?

Hi Richard......
The one usually means that I have other ideas on the same theme, so there may be others that appear on MJ's.

Your thoughts are all evocative of what I had in mind plus some, on the same theme, that I hadn't had.

Thanks for stopping by.

I can't keep up with your output
but I'm happy I'm ere now. This speaks directly to me - my kind of music for sure. Really well modulated low end movement with just the right amount of higher register detail. I like the Blip melody that comes and goes - the artificial intelligence broadcasting across the sea of dark wave.

Reinholt56 said 3190 days ago (March 23rd, 2009)
Hi Bud....
The Artificial Intellince broadcasting across the sea of dark wave sounds like something I should be working on!!! Great idea.

My music always tries to do something extra or a bit special. Sometimes it stands out, sometimes I drown it with other layers. This mix seems to have come out the end OK, from most points of view. That's a bonus for me and I'm happy that people find the mix enjoyable.

Take care.

Hi Daniel.......
We'll just have to jump right in and just either improvise and mix, or work some thinking-mans-music, MIDIfy it and mix away.

I'll see what I can come up with and if any of it would be suitable for us to collaborate on.

Take care.
