Scott's Stones

Description
This tune is a two-chord jam by Mythology that kicks off with the greasiest funk lick we could think of. It was written about my dad's kidney stones. It's pretty funny but it still has a great groove.

This "Rocks"
I see that talent doesn't fall far from the tree, or however that a-corny saying goes :-) Excellently put together and well played... love the smirky lyrics and screaming chorus, and snicker at the end. Great "chunk" of funk there! Welcome to Macjams!

haha, no, not funny :)
well, although surgeons spayed one of my kidneys in 2008, I do not know
what it`s like to feel the pain, when you got stones in your kidneys.

but I know what it sounds like to play tight and funky! :)
very good job.

got the ear from your father it seems, which is really good in my book.

guitar soloing is not 100% tight, sounds like the guitarist is a bit overstrained with playing those fast little notes.
my advice, if you need one:
first play pretty slow and you will see, that the fast ones comin automatically.

welcome to MJ

I.G.M.

I just knew it would be FANTASTIC
when I spotted the name. Because I can tell by how much TALENT you have that it HAS to carrry on to the next generation. Just hope it DOESN"T come to get me too :) as for as those dreaded stones. The only stones I enjoyed was when i was in my first rock group :) I hope and pray that you get over them SOON! God bless.

So much talent in one family ! Amazing !

Thanks for sharing and introducing your son !

If this music could just disintegrate
kidney stones, then there wouldn't be all of that screaming. You never know what the kids are going to make fun of. As the famous line from Buckaroo Banzai, stated,..." laugh while you can, monkey-boy." Heck of a good rock song.
Making fun of Dad's pain took a lot of stones. Thanks.

Ha!
(I can laugh because I haven't had kidney stones - yet). Cool playing and some nice riffing.

As you guys are clearly pretty much on the road to playing seriously (ie not beginners), I'd suggest you figure out how you can record without over-pushing into the red - this sounds either just too hot or it's been pretty seriously compressed. Having said that, after reading Scott's description of how you record, it would be pretty difficult to get it perfect. I guess if you look at this as a "live" recording (but not the vocals right?) then the production is pretty good. Just trying to be helpful :)

The tune is excellent, as is the playing - sounds like you all had a ball!
Cheers from Oz,
Neil
