Description
I recently re-watched the Matrix trilogy and just rocked again to the soundtracks. I figured I could get that driving bass line into my style. This is my attempt to add some meat. This also debuts my purchase of East West's Symphonic Choirs; I waited a long time for it's re-release which gave me time to save up for it. The phrase the men's choir are singing is one of the stock Latin phrases but I changed some of the vowels so they wouldn't clash with sound effects etc. Also certain vowels sounded better on the harmonies I played and 'hanging notes'.

good one
wow, the voice sounds great, absolutely gracious.
sound are top notch, wonderfully arranged.
one little thing: I think it would be nice to pitch one of the background vocals a bit to get a more real character in the choir.
but who knows if it would work? :o)

Mental Cinematography
Very nice piece of music, love the slow build of it, great mixing job, crisp and clear, and compelling rhythm. I admit that I thought the ending was somewhat abrupt, there was no real coda, it just stopped. But I like the way things just flow in this, well written! Parts of this remind me of Mike Oldfield's "Songs of Distant Earth" a bit.

Coda
I somewhat agree. I can almost hear a quiet postlude. I'll wait to see if it takes form as I listen to the track in the next few days. Thanks Drak, always constructive comments.

It's strange you should pick that out, the whistle sound was the very last thing I added as I thought the piano needed a little help carrying a 'melody'.

Thanks.

This is really good
This is excellent, Andrew, like all your music, but maybe a step above, in my taste. Nice, gentle, effective groove. Spectacular use of your tools. I really like the whole feeling of this piece. Very well composed, beautifully arranged. Congratulations, Andrew.

Cheers Patrick
My style is changing as my instrument collection grows. I'm able to add more professional(?) sounding parts into my signature groove. I'm still not sure this one is better than Extra Solar part3 though.

Thanks.

raise hope
there is much power here, it speeds the heart. there is beauty in harmonies. the music sounds ancient, of middle eastern origin, however, the sound effects create a modern dichotomy. it is a skillful balance. it is great music. 0x0

Excellent
I can't help but think this sounds a bit like a rocked/popped up version of the soundtrack to the Myst series.
Great beats and your manipulation of the vocal samples is really good. I'm a sucker for orchestral music mixed with some light electronica and rock so this is exactly my cup of tea.

Fav'ed!
