Lyrics
Sunlight streams through the window and it’s time to face another lonely day;
As I listen to you breathing, I hear the words that you’ll never say.
I’d be the first to tell you that love comes with no guarantee-
And as I watch you sleeping, I wonder where you’d rather be...

She never saw it that way-I guess if she did she’d stay;
But if you wanted me to-I’d have given you anything...

Your hair cascades on the pillow in every direction we’ve been in;
Now you want out of a relationship you’ve never really been in.
Our laughter melts to tears until I’m standing in the pouring rain;
You sigh in your sleep like the whistle of a lost, lonely train...

Suddenly you roll over and breathily you call out my name;
But after last night, what you didn’t say-we’d never be the same.
I know you’d convince yourself that in your heart you really care-
But I’d never recognize that place cause you know that I’ve never really been there...

She never saw it that way-I guess if she did she’d stay;
But if you wanted me to-I’d have given you anything...
...I’d have given you anything...

Wonderful melody
Ken.Like the 'demo style',bare bones,no nonsense approach you've used here.I can hear a second vocal and a few accompanying instruments to add depth,but it is strong as is.Thanks for sharing and much enjoyed.

Blessings,

Alright
Chaser, I appreciate that. Actually this is the final track on my first CD which featured the whole band, but I opted to leave this one as solo acoustic, which is the way I had always performed it.

I love acoustic:
It is so intimate and elegant. Nice, emotive singing to go with the subtle playing. Romantic. Thanks.

Actually this has always just been a solo acoustic piece. It's the last cut on my first CD, which had a full band, but I decided to just do this as is.

Essentially I'm singing to my never to come chance at making it as a performer; I'd have given it anything, but while I was able to be a professional musician for a few years the big break never came.

Hi Ken
Lovin it as usual! The beginning is slightly cut off. Not bad and surely not as bad as the recent ending to my last song! (hee hee) but yes this is quite nice!
