Description
This is the flip side to 'Kung Fu', and its about how when we bought our house we had this plan that we'd get through settlement and then we'd come back to the empty house and 'christen' it - if you know what i mean - room by room. But it ended up that we were so amazed that we actually owned the house that we just sat in the empty living room staring at each other. Musically i wanted to capture that amazement - you know amazed that we were grown up - we felt like kids that bluffed their way into a bar or something. So I wanted the chorus to be like a cork popped on a bottle.

Lyrics
we swapped our hearts
and we carved them in a tree
me and you
and you plus me
we took that tree
and we built a little house
so our hearts are in the boards
they are rough but they are stout
room by room by room by room by room - let's break it in
(if the house is rockin' don't bother knockin')
we saved our wants
and we traded them for dreams
seen in clouds and heard in pop songs
cut from magazines
we took those dreams
and we papered all the walls
every room an open window
bedrooms, closets, halls
room by room by room by room by room - let's break it in
(if the house is rockin' don't bother knockin')
and we carved them in a tree
me and you
and you plus me
we took that tree
and we built a little house
so our hearts are in the boards
they are rough but they are stout
room by room by room by room by room - let's break it in
(if the house is rockin' don't bother knockin')
we saved our wants
and we traded them for dreams
seen in clouds and heard in pop songs
cut from magazines
we took those dreams
and we papered all the walls
every room an open window
bedrooms, closets, halls
room by room by room by room by room - let's break it in
(if the house is rockin' don't bother knockin')

Lyrically/Conceptually, it might be the best love song you've written.
Musically, it's full of great contrasting ideas, most of which shocked and surprised me that they work so well despite the style clashes they suggest.
You are just beginning to develop what I call a "recognizable" sound.
Awesome tune man.
