Description
Kind of a story song about a guy who meets a girl who claims to be some sort of activist. However as time goes by, he realizes she's someone who just loves the romantic notion of the name and unfortunately can't commit to anything or anyone. It just sort of popped into my head full blown like a video or film short. I can even tell you what the bar looks like where they hung out. Too weird.

Lyrics
This time, in its’ time, if there’s time
Maybe we could change the day
But you had to go, hit the road, I don’t know, but
Must have been too good to stay

Everybody tells me that you love me
But you’re always somewhere else
You leave me here all alone
To fill in the gaps by myself
And that’s why I say....

When it all comes down tonight
We’ve got one chance to make this right

Good times, bad times, sometimes we get what we deserve
And it’s not about your silly circumstances
But who or what you’re gonna’ serve

We said we want to change the world
But that was wine and that was talk and that was all
And it seems to me there’s no irony just comedy
We went home and slept it off
And that’s why I say...

When it all comes down tonight
We’ve got one chance to make this right

(You know what I’m talking about)
When I say...
(You make up your mind)
When I say
(You know what I’m talking about everytime, everytime)

This time is the right time sunshine
To let your light shine
There’s only me and I promise I’ll listen
So tell me what to do

You swear you’re followed by the angels
Yeah, but you got your devils too
Best not look over your shoulder till your older
Or you’ll see them and they’ll see you
And that’s why I say...

When it all comes down tonight
We’ve got one chance to make this right

(You know what I’m talking about)
When I say...
(You make up your mind)
When I say
(You know what I’m talking about everytime, everytime)

Repeat/ad nauseum

Wow!
I started this on the speakers but had to stop, reset and put on the cans cause I wanted to get all this great sound!!!

The guitar work is gorgeous in this! The guitar tone is wonderful! The vocals truly shine and the harmonies are wonderful... Nice changes too in the song structure.

I like this a lot! The mix seems clean and crisp but not too hot.

I'm gonna pimp this! Excellent song/work!

Yeah, good song
Good song construction and melody. The vocals are super and so is the guitar work you do. The drums are programmed just right for the groove. I can hear they're midi though, and I'd like to recommend for you to look into the kind of drum loops that comes from betamonkey or drums on demand. It would lift this production up where it belongs:)

Nice and
mellow. Loved the harmony chorus. Maybe a little variation on the drumbeat would spice up the backing track, but everything is a real tight fit. Thanks.

Thanks everyone!
You're words of encouragement push me to keep finding time to continue. The sense of community here is unrivaled. Everyone supports everyone else regardless of experience, technique, etc. It's a safe place for people to kind of become who they're going to become musically.
I love everyones input and critique and look forward to returning the favor as often as possible.
Special thanks to Mark for "pimping" me! You're the man!
If I can offer anything to you folks from where I'm at, please feel free to drop me a line.
Peace,
David

You really put a lot in here. This song has a lyrical story and a sort of soft jazz/rock/pillow talk kind of vibe. The vocals are great and so are the subtle but solid instrumentals. Great production and I am only listening on the laptop speakers now. Just wait until I can play it on the reference monitors!

This tune has a cool groovin beat - kinda reminds me of Boz Scaggs or even a little Steely Dan. You do a nice job a giving every instrument its place, from the guitars to the vocals to the drums, and everything is mixed very nice. Nice job - thanks for sharing this!

Sweet
Well everyone said it - great tune, vocals superb and song structure supreme. I'm with the comments on the drums as well, and you should easily be able to apply some good loops like Drums On Demand or even get someone here to collaborate with you and furnish a little more dynamic drum track.

As it is, it's a downloaded keeper for me, thanks for sharing it!

Very pro this!
Everything about this piece works friend.

Love your tasteful and precise guitar work, but what really stands out for me is your vocals. Great lead and harmony vocals throughout.

Bravo and encore!

Be well!

excellent
great song! hope you take this as a compliment...your voice sounds a little like Mark Cohn. Incredible vocals - both lead and background. This is just a very well put together, tight and flowing piece of music. Everything has it's place - nothing superfluous. Great stuff.
