Description
Believe it or not, this song was inspired after I watched James Taylor at a one man live Theatre Gig, shown on TV. Such a great easy style he has and while this sounds nothing like him or his style, it was the looks on the faces of the audience as they sat hanging onto every word he sang, that quite moved me as well as them. The silence and intentness of their(sometimes 'teary' gaze was something special. This therefore is not so much about the man as the emotion in his audience, and it struck me how everybody has these same emotional feelings deep inside, no matter how they may try to cover them in their day to day lives. The song though just needed a softer vocal touch to give it a lift and who better than our songstress Roxanne to sweeten it with her lovely harmonies? I asked and she immediately agreed to do the job and I'm thrilled to bits with the outcome..... hope you like it.

Lyrics
The Singer
‘Saw a singer who’s a storyteller, tellin’ how he turned his life around,
Touching raw emotions in his audience, they wish he’d never found.
He sang of when he was a youth, swearin’ that it was the truth,
His Daddy left when he was ten, never coming home again,
Leavin’ him to care for siblings and a Mom who simply pined away.
Every eye was red and sad, listenin’ about the life he’d had,
Emotion runnin’ through the air, brought feelin’s that just made them sit and stare,
His voice rang out the saddest song, as fingers played the guitar he was holdin’,
But the beauty of his singing was the feelings he instilled in those beholdin’ (When he said)
Chorus.
Everyone has feelings, No-one is an island,
Learn to share your feelin’s and show someone you care,
Sisters now and brothers, love one another,
Nothin’ is as beautiful as showing people just how much you care.
The audience they sat so still, with wrapped attention ‘till each song was over,
Then they clapped and cheered, in appreciation of this singin’ rover,
To a man they understood the meaning of the words that he was callin’,
He was holdin’ up a mirror of their lives and that’s what kept the tears a rollin’ (when he said)
Chorus x2

I liked this song immediately and was delighted to sing on it. I hope JT gets to hear this. I am amazed at how many styles you can sing and they all sound so natural. I think this has an island feel, although no one is an island.
