I think I've said this before....
...but I really like it when your vocal melodies don't lean too heavily on the 'stevel melisma'... This sounds like a good, strong, definite melody line, and I like how you're singing it...

I also like the way you're using the guitar phrases to echo and decorate vocal lines. I like both the lead tone and the rhythm tone. I think Bryn has a point in looking for more bass, and maybe a little more impact from the drums...

I always enjoy the way you use the guitar, Steve. I think this is a strong piece, and could even be worth a re-do at some point just to bring out more of what's already in there...

great mix on the vox - really up close and personal and you've got the perfect voice for that approach. great mix all around actually - love how the bass and the rhythm guitar bleed together a bit, makes for a really warm and dark soundbed. KILLER break/solo around 2:10 - just right. Sounds like it was recorded in your kitchen - in a GOOD "sounds like it was recorded in your kitchen" way lol. Great "summer's comin" music. Thanks!

From a songwriter's
perspective this tune is so darn right. You need just a bit more folks on stage to punch this thru the ceiling. Great Track and a download.

Catchy
Great tune, as usual. This one has a very catch pop sound about it that is really quite fun. Kind of reminded me of some vintage R.E.M. at times. I could very much imagine hearing this one on the old college radio station back in the day. Enjoyed it tons!

Great song Steve and very catchy chorus that stays put. Love your playing and vocal. Not sure what people are saying above about the mix - sounds spot on in my headphones.
Absolute download. Thanks.

From the first kick
this was going to be good.

Another cool track Steve. I agree with Bryn and Ed about the bass, as I've mentioned on other songs of yours. I'm always interested in playing some bass if you want, although I suspect it's a mixing decision rather than a bass playing issue. Your guitar is as lovely sounding as ever, and the vocals work really nicely too.
Really good post.

nice
really Like the sound of the guitars and the overall mix on this one. The more songs I hear on macjams using a Strat, the more I want to get one... but I must put gear envy out of my mind.
lo fi powerpop is definitely one of my genres of choice, so great to hear this!
Sha la la's are awesome.
