Appreciate the words a lot. It's not exactly high art but it was a fun song to do.

man, great chorus. just terrific. more 80's take on the 50's than straight 50's but i like that. backups are cool ("kill em dead") as is the outro scat. I like the laid back and (almost) stumbling lead, like J. Mascis playing with the crickets.

Now this is the real deal ...this guitar tone just ripped my heart ..
what kind of guitar is that ??? ...top notch production as always ..
lovely singing ...I just loved this ...thnx alot for sharin !!!!
buckhorn said 210 days ago (April 28th, 2009)
Hi Feter
The guitar is a Mexican Telecaster, It was fairly cheap. I am using GTR racks software with it which gives it a fairly good amplifier sound , which is nice because I've never owned an amplifier. Thanks for the listen. Regards

nothing wrong with cliche
dude, I like this. slow groove and nice melody. Jan & Dean meets Roy (Orbison not Rogers)

The electric guitar lines are laid back and slick!

nice
Great song, doesn't sound cliche to me. It has a good melody and structure, good groove.
Well played and sung too!
Like the scatting towards the end.
Altogether very enjoyable. "wish I could sound current but I don't know how" LOL - that's the story of my life.

good to hear one of your songs again, it's been awhile (probly me not you). not cliched, classic. you never let me down, and your lead playing is fabulous.

Just a tune I wrote in like ten minutes that was a lot fun to do. I was too lazy to mix out the clunker guitar notes. Hope you are well.

Neat
You'll have to play this after "Marigold" on Austin City Limits. I'll still be saying "Damn, I need to buy this record". The only thing better than your songwriting is your responses to everyone's comments. You're the James Dean of self deprecation. It just makes you cooler.

De-crap-acated
I assume you're talking the Jim Dean of "pure pork sausage" fame. Sorry I couldn't resist that one. Cheers

Very nice update
on the 50's style and pattern. I wish I had a dollar for every time I played those chords, man I'd be rich now.

Nice job o the vox there Matt. Like your "stumbling" lead part. Sounds really good to me. I guess this talent thing must run in the family, at least among the brothers anyway. Great job on this one Matt

croonin', just like Alfalfa. Cool to see pictures of you at the Bob Dorsey opening. You guys are living the life that I was too cowardly to live... ironic, as now I am a starving non-artist. Thanks for the listen.

Will do, can-do.
I missed a good one, glad to catch up with you. This is a great song for "balance" in terms of the message. Not all is sunny but the singer-narrator has an affirmative message. Nice vox, guitars and mix as always, My favorite band of the last decade is Wilco and this resonates a little bit with the more accessible side of Jeff Tweedy's vibe.

Another Fool
That's what they said to me when I walked into the room, obviously quite late to the party and not on the guest list.

For a starving non-artist, you sure have a lot of style, bucky boy. It's a funny perspective.... Depending which side of the campfire you sit on determines who is living the life that the other was too cowardly to live.

I never brought my guitar to the campfire because I didn't do covers and I knew no one would want to hear my songs, so when I hear guys like you play, man I get excited!

Another great song from the west coast. Sorry I missed it on my birthday weekend, but I'll consider it a fantastic gift!

Thanks Matt!

How did I
miss this - I guess I been gone too long. You know I love your writing - my favorite part of this song is your vocal slurring in the chorus - that slide on the word "time" is so Cheap Trick and of course way back from there.
