Description
This is from last night's rehearsal with Steve DiBenedetto sitting in on drums. We've played together off and on for over 25 years and Steve's always an inspiration. The rest of the band is the usual A7 lineup: LSD 25 - guitar, Stu - bass, Bud - guitar and vocals. Recorded to Zoom H2 and tweaked in GB08 and Audacity. No additions - no deletions.
Last night was a great head-cleaner for me after my recent accident.

Big bad Bud Band
Blimey blue this is has a bad arse soundage to it. What accidents, you ok man?
Remnants of a past time gone by, Neil Young days. Sounds like a head cleaning session to me, always a good thing. Love your live performances bro, that drumming is great. Way to go mate, get well soon if they are the kind of accidents you had?

No worries
I had a miraculous near-miss wreck on the highway. Car a total loss and I walked away unscathed - with no one else touched or harmed.
Glad you liked his one - Steve kills the skins. Thanks for stopping by.

A lot of
powerful emotion and energy in the performance demonstrating resilience. Interesting vocal..if I may, it is like a air raid siren, it compels attention.
Screamingly good. Thanks to all.

Very astute interpretation of the vocal
I was kind of channeling Thom Yorke from Radiohead. He has a tendency to repeat short bits of lyrics as musical ideas or sound effects. Overall it's about how long it can take to realize that something has changed. Thanks.

So glad that this is what you do
directly after a smash!

Lesser men would have cried whiplash at least! You just sling on the axe and keep on truckin' ! I tip my hat sir. A fine Yorkesque number indeed..

See you in 4 months!

Funny you should say so
at one point I got carried away and wrenched my neck and shoulder something awful. That's what happens when you try to act cool.

4 months! You're on.

dig the arena stage sound
sounds like a bunch of full stacks going out at eleven. the drummer sure has a Bonham sound here.

the song itself is VERY cool in it's own right.

bud said 3090 days ago (May 7th, 2009)
The arena effect was
accomplished in post by splitting the 2track surround recording in Audacity and importing the splits into GB with different eq, reverb, and delay. The Bonham effect is all Steve.

Great band! You're obviously feeling well enough---after your accident---to be able to deliver the goods Kevin.

Thoroughly enjoyed this foray into the hallowed realm of psychedelia!

Be well friend!

This Music Reminds me of Magnog, albeit much more aggressive.
But the intention to float beyond our atmosphere is present.
Nice interplay between the players and good performances overall but the drummer really shines!

woozy
Bud, Sorry to hear about your mishap my friend. I hope you are OK. That sounds scarey as hell. Shoot me an email if you have a sec and let me know what happened! Now to the song at hand, trippy, spacey, woozy, wobbly. That H2 does a really amazing job actually. Your pal Steve does rule the roost on the skins, keeping the kittens herded and towing the line.--P

Steve definitely keeps it moving
and contained at the same time. He's great to play with.
The accident was just your basic spinning out of control and bouncing off the guardrail in four lanes of highway traffic without hitting or getting hit by another vehicle. Pretty damn lucky.

I'm not trying...
...to make light of your recent encounter with the center guardrail of the freeway, Bud, but this jam could easily be the slo-mo version of what was going through your head for those few seconds as all life slowed down to a crawl and kind of got sucked into a haze...(Punch Drunk Love...could have been a track in that film.... I loved that music...and this is right there!!!)
Peace (and more peace),
Paul

The Band
Well I guess that one has been used. Great live sound, I had the phones on and I was there. Glad you are back in action after your auto accident. But this did remind me of some early Band jams and as toki commented "Neil Young". Full of energy, enjoyed. Thanks.

this was my attempt at early Floyd - and the bass player is a Deadhead at heart. Good ears. It is fun.

whoa!
half way through listening to this I realized I was totally in love with it. It's very emotive, hardcore, but completely accessible! Sounds better than a lot of Live albums to booth. Well done, and thanks for sharing this, it's somehow hopeful too, at the end of one war we hopefully gain the power to defend against the another one. At least it could be interpreted so.

T really appreciate your enthusistic comments
makes this whole thing that much more fun when other people get it. Nice optimistic take on the lyrics. My version is a little more cynical I'm afraid. Like I'm in a mode and can't get out of it.
