(Bold Head) Blue Eyes

This is the second part of my audacious decision to post two songs on the same day! Basically I haven't posted anything for quite a while, so now I'm doing a special-super-deluxe double post! I havent had time to do serious recording for ages, as studies and other bandprojects have take up what little time I've got;) So I'm now going to post two quick recordings I've done. They might not be as 'polished' as things I've posted before, but abit more in the 'spur of the moment!' Here is the first song, Spellbound: http://www.macjams.com/song/52816

This song started (as many of my songs) as a acoustic diddle on the guitar. It was written as a response to some things that where running through my head. I recorded this version over Christmas, and it has been floating around since. I havent posted it before because I wasn't 100% sure if this was what I wanted it to sound like. I was thinking a more stripped down arrangement would have fitted the song even better. But I finally decided to post this version for now, as it has grown abit on me.

Will be doing quite a bit of recording over the summer, and some of might might just end up here. So stay tuned;)

(Bold Head) Blue Eyes

Bold head and blue eyes
Is this you, can you recognize
Yourself in the mirror on the wall
Standing there looking two feet small
But you try as best you can, and you wonder if I understand

Well, I didn't back then
But now I've been thinking of it again
I am older now
And I've realized how
Near the end you where, and I try not to burst out in tears

It's been a long time
And you're doing fine
And now I see
How strong you must be
To hold on, and be able to move on

I'm a sucker for those mandolin and banjo parts, especially where you have those haunting back up vocals alongside.

Cool track.

Great effect. This piece is wonderful. Can I claim this for the antipop camp, without making you too upset? What a great feel, the reverb feels spacious, really helping out the vocals. The piece sounds spontaneous. You have done a lot of listening, lots of subtle things here, I really like that...the tease at the end, nice.

I Love
The Lo-Fi recording if you know what I mean. Reminds me of the Beta Band. Kinda of deconstructed. A bit muddled in the middle range in parts perhaps, nothing a re-master would not be able to sort out.

Like Pink Floyd gone bluegrass...or something. Ha ha...

Very VERY nice! Love the subtle textural variations yielded by the unusual choice of instruments.

Be well!

Love the lo-fi
Great lo-fi feel to this recording. Kinda psychedelic at the same time. I dig it! Harmonies could be a bit tighter. Enjoyed listening...
