Success is this feedback
Thanks for the listen Char. I will take that as the best comment possible, I make lots of sketches, really fast, this one was different.
This started as a Sourkraut jazz sketch, and then went into the trance groove direction. The bittersweet harmony effected me so I left it open at the end, I had wanted a trombone or sax solo on the ride out.

Mmmm....
Tea and dark chocolate... two of my 3 favorite things. This sounded like the perfect soundtrack for that third thing. Char and I agree. I suggested #34, and she almost fainted. Interesting dissonances kept perking my ears.

3 favorite things
Char's favorite #34? If she put on heels, she did tell me she needed a date... dissonances that resolve are bittersweet, that is the secret here.

Daug!
This is my fave of all your posts to date bro!

Love the bass and percussion in this. Sounds like you know your way around the keyboards as well.

Long...but it totally works.

Be well friend!

Calchas!
I'm pleased I made something you enjoyed. I would have figured Bhairava Daug, so much like Return to Forever cuts... looks like I'm moving into commercial sounds here. I blame that new keyboard.

Feter returns to the Daug House
Yes Sir, the solo's sound spontaneous to me as well. It does groove...

Funky

I love the direction you're moving here. Dub meets lounge-y film noir. I dig the bass and space in this. I can hear that trombone part. Some keyboard rides in middle maybe a little busy. But then we get back to groove (Elvis' guitar player?)
and I'm back on the dance floor, but after closing time. Very tasty track.

Full Funky Disclosure
John you laid it all out perfectly. Synth lead sounds spontaneous but I agree with your assessment, I'll talk to that guy. The horn flurry is a pet sound. Which leads us to Elvis' guitar player, dam that guy can play, you're exactly right, never a wasted note.
Thanks for stopping by and listening. This has 2 sisters, maybe, I will finish them...

Well Timed
A nice ten minute break from the monotony of the day.

Good to the last drop!

I wonder what this will be like at 3:00? I might need a double!

Trance
This is very cool. I like your piano chord voicings... I personally might be tempted to bring them up in the mix a bit... it strikes me that the percussion is generally the focal point here, just in terms of dynamics, but that's probably the way you intended it. I love the synth solo about 2/3 of the way through.

Thanks CC
I appreciate you stopping by... those bittersweet chords are the whole thing. Well, except for the dissonant line from Elvis' guitar player. I was trying to be subtle again, I did knock out the bone solo planned for the end so you could hear the harmony, you had to wait until the ride out though-bad Daug!

This is very cool Daug! Love the horns, and most especially the keyboard work - interesting chords that keep a slight tension while also totally relaxing me. quite a feat!

Thanks Magnatone
The original horn charts were cut when Elvis' guitar player was made available, thanks John! (See above) Those chords sit in the background and simmer making the rest possible.
Thanks for listening.

Jaunty!
Really ... jaunty. I always want to hear more guitar in everything (a hazardous side-effect of my own instrumental myopia), but this is still a very well-mixed and dynamic piece. Neat little funky key bits. I really like the keys that come in at 4:30, a nice new layer. Oh, and I can hear some cowbell wanting "in" on this!

Welcome Back Bob6stringer
Bob, I apologize, I had Elvis guitar player on here, and he said that was enough. Lol. Ask John Whitehead. Lol. Dam it's the most dissonant, and repeated riff, in the whole chart Bob, yet you need more guitar? Bob, if I have to buy a digital interface and put guitar on these things-my wife will expect me to get paid...
