Description
This here is a collaboration with Florida's 'B.L. Barakus'. They sent me some instrumental tracks a few months back and asked if I'd be into coming up with some vocals for them. The songs were so sonically interesting to me that I couldn't say no.

When I heard this particular track, the film Blade Runner immediately popped into my head. So, being the geeky fanboy I am, I wrote the lyrics about Roy Batty, the main bad guy in the movie. Those of you that are familiar with the film will get it ;)

I was also asked to put together a bit of a video for the song using footage from the movie, and here that is (viewer discretion advised:

This song, as well as the others I sang on will be available later this year on B.L. Barakus' EP 'Morelife' at http://www.popuprecords.com

Lyrics
As you ascend to meet your maker
The strobing neon reflects off your dove white hair
The little man who stands beside you
He is wishing he were anywhere but there

You've been killing for more life (and you will kill for it tonight)
You'll do whatever it takes (to make this ending go away)
You've been dying all your life (but you don't want to die tonight)
And you will not give up the fight
As long as you're alive

You've been killing for more life (and you will kill for it tonight)
You'll do whatever it takes (to make these seizures go away)
You've been dying all your life (but you don't want to die tonight)
And you will not give up the fight
As long as you're alive

His eyes they look upon you
He knows what you have gone through
But he will not give you more time
He says he isn't able
He says it's impossible
But you can tell he's spewing lies
The rage comes down upon you
and You know not what you do
When you take his brilliant life
You reach out for his embrace
Put your hands on his face and
Crush his overactive eyes

You've been killing for more life (and you will kill for it tonight)
You'll do whatever it takes (to make this ending go away)
You've been dying all your life
And you will not give up the fight
As long as you're alive

Stay alive!

You've been killing for more life
You'll do whatever it takes
You've been dying all your life
And you will not give up the fight
As long as you're alive

Great
re working of the theme. I loved to be frightened by Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner.
Academy awards are not given to ScFi genre. Hauer owned that part. You own this song. Exceptional. Thanks.

bladerunner
I love rutgers speech at the end of the film about seeing things that other people haven't seen.
The song is great...and the vid is brilliantly put together.
Just one thing...I would have liked the drums up just a bit in the mix..but then, that's just me.
Otherwise...great stuff

Roy Batty
On of my favorite films of all time. Can you believe that this film holds up today?

Re: the song- You sound really different on this tune (not a bad thing). B.L. did some nice instrumentation here. Also like the sound clips.

I was able to listen to this. MJ didn't lock up this time :)

as always you come up with awesome vocal parts. the genre is not really my thing (a little alterna-Rush sounding for me), but you are still rocking my day. cool that you'll be on another album soon. great to hear your voice.
