Don't want to say goodbye

Description
written and recorded around the same time as 'open up the door' and 'what can i do', about the same break up, about a year ago. This was the first real song I recorded, as you maybe able to tell particularly at the end.
It's a bit of a sad song, written on piano ( which as you can tell, I don't know how to play ) but i was pleased with it anyway.
I really wanted the build up to sound smoother... but wasn't able to do it

Lyrics
Inexact lyrics

I don’t wanna say goodbye
But try as I might it still happens
Why? Don’t ask me why
Same thing happens

Love and relationships are not easy
Passion fires then starts to fade
But through the ups and through the downs
Try to turn it round, I keep on trying

Sometimes you don’t get to choose
Everywhere you turn you lose
Sometimes you don’t get to choose

I don’t wanna say goodbye
But try as I might it still happens
Why? Don’t ask me why
It seems this always happens

Oh my lord I don’t know where I’m going
And I don’t know where I’m from
All this time I feel, I’m here in circles
No one tells me to give up

Sometimes you don’t get to choose
Everywhere you turn you lose
Sometimes you don’t get to choose

This endless circle keeps going round and round
Keeps going down and down
And I’m not sure
Where we’re heading for
Keep hearing those words
Those words are in my head
Keep telling myself get up again
Oh I, I don’t wanna say goodbye
I don’t wanna even try
Oh no, why have you turned out all the lights

nice one
you have a great voice. like the song too. the only thing i would change is maybe go into the piano roll and fix up the piano chords a bit. they sound a little stiff which is taking away from the song. it's a really great song. lov ethe sound of the acoustic when it soloes at around the 3 minute mark. really cool tone, almost like you took it off a cassette.

good one
agree with M2 and Feter, your singing is the cat's pajamas.
I don't mind the piano, although it was a good decision to have a break from it in the middle.. it would have been too much otherwise. the buildup at the end is pretty cool and well done in my opinion.
You seem to have a real knack for arranging a song... you're too hard on yourself in the description.
Look forward to more!

great vox
Man you have a GREAT voice. At times Chris Martin, at times Robert Smith, at times David Gray. I like the arrangement of the tune - cool acoustic break and nice buildup at the end - only suggestion is to give those piano chords a more natural feel.

everyone is so nice
thanks for all the really nice comments here,
unfortunately, i can't play the piano any better than that, maybe one day i'll learn
the acoustic, i just recorded into the microphone in my room
its especially nice to hear nice things about the singing, i'm sure anyone who puts their own singing on a track, understands the self doubt you feel about your own voice, still trying to learn how to improve, its the hardest part, but the one i like to do most
thanks again
