Description
this song has almost no effects, the guitar is strait in along with the bass, my singing also. A cool rocker with some old lyrics about my friend Jay a guitarist who died of a heroin over dose. Anyway hope you like it

Lyrics
Ive got an idea for a million and one reasons
does it ever come to fruition
an exploding star only one inch from every last breath

turnin blue in the shower
just wishing in a dream
leavin with out any credit
non one knows just a few close loved ones
how far did it go
how far did it go

caring is for weaker souls
who has the upper hand
full of nothing but vanity

its true that chasing after wind is what it becomes
one more persons
mere dots in the middle of the ocean
unknown lost foolish betrayed
wishing it never did happen
something in a name
depends on who remembers

your in the middle of an ocean
unknown lost foolish betrayed
wishin it never happened
it happened to you anyway
then you say I got an idea
for a million and one reasons
does it ever come to fruition
an exploding star only one inch from every last breath

turnin blue in the shower
turnin blue in the shower
who knew a few close loved one
how far did it go
caring is for weaker souls
who had the upper hand

Turnin Blue in the Shower
Love the raw tone. Sometimes it's good to try to write a song without any effects. It really works on this song.
Thanks

i like the stripped down...

nature of this, ego... seems fitting, given the subject matter. You really have put it together here. The song really works as far as my lame listening skills go. Sorry about your friend... I imagine a good way to "get it all out..."

classic guitar rhythmic-ing throughout.

Hey, Eegs, that title line is a seriously raw image. Ouch. Sorry about that. This is anything but maudlin, and the approach is probably how your friend would want you to immortalize him. Composition and content overall is great. Mix-wise, it's valid. If you wanted to mess with it, you could try some reverbs and squash the voxes together... maybe even a touch of OD (overdrive, not overdose) to try to "analog-them-up" a bit. And maybe step on the whole master track with some some compression. Or don't. You got great guitar tone here. And thank you for mixing the drums as you did--not to loud; just right for that early-70's Stones archetypal feel IMHO. (Just above this comment, Vic says late 70s... AFTER Some Girls? Yuck, no way!!)

Proper
Rock, raw and uncluttered, downloaded and faved. There's a hint of Bon Scott in the vocals by the way ,and that's not a bad thing at all.Liked it a lot.

One of your best
Very tight, clean sound. Almost sounds like the Stones. (Ha, just saw Vic's comments)

Really, one of your best. Excellent guitar work, too.

Nice one Ego
Always like the free nature of your songs... this one has a pinback guitar sound that I like a lot... with a Jane's Addiction vocal. Great stuff!

Effects are over rated
sometimes anyway. The lack of them gives the song an honest, raw, in your face sound. Works perfect, IMO.

Nice job, man.

awesome!
A bit more Johnny Thunders than Stones isn't it?
It's a sad story but a kickass, rockin' song.
Fantastic.

Dang yer prolific!
You are a music machine Tim!

Sad about Jay. I lost three friends to drug-related deaths. It's an awful thing...

Great rhythmic tuneage though.

Be well friend!

Man
Man, this is staggering stuff. The tone and emotion in the vocal, and the powerful twisting lyrics are perfectly matched by that driving beat. Can think of things you could to this in terms of sound and all that, but can't think of anything you could do that would really make this better. Sorry about your friend, Tim. A fitting tribute. Peace.

Clear and clean
works so well with this. The soundbed has a early Beatles kind of sound to me. Sir Pauls Bass playing.
Sorry about your friend indeed. You sure turned that into a fine rocking tune. Great job!

what a
cool idea. In the frantic search for the "perfect" tone sometimes we forget to let the song just be. I woudln't change a thing about this jam. Great, personal song. Intense lyrics.
