Description
A few weeks ago I was reading the forum post that Tobin had put up regarding Facebook. I thought what the hell, I have never done any of the social networking stuff before and went to check it out. In the process of creating an account, of course they were asking what schools you went to. So, I entered my high-school and up came a list of possible friends. This was the beginning of the song. I saw many faces that I remembered from all those years ago, and sadly some looked as lost today as they were then. There were photos of them and their families at various places and it kinda looked, all though they were smiling, they would rather be somewhere else. I hope their dreams came true. Mine did.
This is very shallow and a very quick recording. I have once again just given up. Try as I might, recording and vocals are beyond me...... I write songs but do not have the talent to perform them as they should be done. Thank you for listening and your understanding.

Lyrics
Russ Wilson © 2009
So you passed on your dreams
And you did all the things that society said you should.
Happy it seems
In a relative way.
But I look in your eyes
Deep and shallow behind the smile that you always wear
The white picket fence wasn't part of your dreams.
Chorus:
When you look back in time
Tell me what do you see?
Is it filled with regret
Or is full and complete?
Because it's never too late
For your soul to be free.
Life at times is hard enough
Make your way through
Hold on to your dreams.
Now the shadows are full
And your days go quickly and your nights aren't long enough.
The days of your youth are farther away.
The memories you hold
are the smiles that you wear at night when you fall asleep.
The passion inside still begs to be free.
Chorus
So the choices you've made
Brought you down life's long and narrow street.
Second guessing remains
But the chapter's complete.
Sometimes we don't know
No matter how hard or how much we stop and think
Could it be the fence was your dream?
So you passed on your dreams
And you did all the things that society said you should.
Happy it seems
In a relative way.
But I look in your eyes
Deep and shallow behind the smile that you always wear
The white picket fence wasn't part of your dreams.
