Description

the universe is expanding and acelerating away and shows no signs of slowing down. galaxies are colliding into each other. a black hole sits near the center of our own galaxy devouring away. the sun will expand consuming half the planets. sure would be a sight to see in time lapse photography.

Sorry, I was busy working and did not have the time to post a comment earlier... Here it goes:

This has a lot of 80's (or even some early goth, before today's goth where goth)... 4AD, Psychadelic Furs, even The Killing Jokes comes to mind, but it's still done in a modern way, with creativity and tools of today. I like the monotony of the verse, the darkness surrounding the whole song. The acoustic break is brilliant. This is good song, a great performance, love the vocals and the guitar especially. It's VERY 80's gothic actually, not a genre often performed here, Love it!

What I'm picking up on this time...
...is that when you push yourself to drop your voice a little you actually have this unexpected Ray Davies kind of tonality that you can do... So even though this is a full out guitar orchestra thing, with that vocal quality and those nice bits of acoustic that you drop in, I find myself wondering about that great lost 'Sunny Afternoon/Waterloo Sunset' single...

So, what I hear you saying, Chicken Little, is that the sky is not so much falling as it is sucking us all into the void...

Bright Future For Vic Holman
You always impress me with your music, but today you really surprised me with your creativity. Those theremin sounds are really perfect. It caused me to imagine a 1950's sci-fi movie with a lab-bor-ratory full of arcing, sparking electrodes, boiling beakers and a giant tesla device making hair stand on end. While that vision was playing in black and white in my head, I thought of Dave Stewart formerly of the Eurhythmics - I remembered that killer album he did with Tom Petty. Then I began to wonder.... I asked myself, "Is Vic the result of some wild science experiment gone horribly awry? The kind of experiment where some evil scientist swapped brains?"

I like the strummy guitar parts and during the faster "lost the light" I kept hearing an almost reggae guitar rhythm - like the Clash or somebody cool like that. Your drums are always the most remarkable thing to me.

Excellent production.

I think I need a new ipod just for your songs!

all that wild static electric comes from shuffling my feet across the carpet. regarding wild experiments, I never want to see a scalpel again.

Yeah there are some punkish elements here and there. the drums are across 3 tracks. I played all 3 straight through, the toms really are what makes em groove. I'll probably ruin this keyboard as well pounding on the keys for drums

Watched a Carl Sagan documentary with JD
last night on the universe - and it's a lot bigger than even Douglas Adams let on. : ) In the big scheme of the entire universe, earth really is just a small speck of dust! Is it just me or can Carl Sagan's vocal cadence put one into a sort of trance (either that or I was just sleepy) It would be something to see! : ) When you're talking billions and billions of light years - well, guess we'd best make the best of the little time we get to be conscious of it all. : ) Love the music, Vicar!!! Especially the intro. : )

As I listen to your music more and more your unique style is grabbing hold of me. I
wonder if David Bowie influenced you at some point - your music - this tune in
particular is very psychedellic rock sounding. I like your use of guitar layering to
create an interesting wall of sound that, in this case, along with the vocals, kind
of swirls around you and attacks from all sides.

Too bad...
that the galaxy will be destroyed that way. Oh well, earth will be destroyed before that by our exploding Red Giant sun.
Humans will probably be extinct by then anyway I guess...
