Scary, fun
Very enjoyable horror-soundtrack sounding music.
that crazy piano sound around 2:49, and in other parts is especially awesome.
Builds to a neat climax.
Impressed with all the musical ideas contained therein. Good post!

the rhythms are drum loop based - the notes were all changed around mostly by intuition - the arrangement was done "blind": i built up the patterns on the screen without actually llistening to it. afterwards, i fixed a few things that just didn't sound right. it took a while to get the dynamics right - but i could have sent more time on that i guess.

thanks

Great rhythm machine
feels like dadaist ballet mechanique type stuff. Is there some system at work here - or are you just having fun? Excellent track.

it's a little fun and a little process. it started out from playing a whole bunch of drum loops on piano. it sort of evolved from there.

glad you liked it

thx

Ok I certainly
don't need any more coffee this morning after this!...

Bill you have such a way of projecting emotion in these pieces... I'm all nervous energy now!

Nicely done!

initially, the tempo was much slower. i kept speeding it up until it seemed to have the right energy level.

well, I am drinking coffee...

and this song prevents the need for another!... ha. Eerie sound scape that fits in with some chase scene in a movie.... "He's going to get me... I must flee and get away... oh no, there he is again! Mommy help!!" LOL

cheers,
Jack

movie: yeah, i was thinking sometime during the middle of this project of a film where the main character receives messages that appear on his skin - and he learns that it makes sense to heed them. the nightmare scenario is here: his skin tells him he is in grave danger and all he can do is run! of course he can't run out of his own skin...

thanks

This is
music to accompany one of those horrible recurring dreams I tend to have, where I've gone to the City and forgotten where I left the car, don't know where the Railway station is and have forgotten where my son works and lives and don't know his number, Sheesh! Do you think I could be insecure???? AAaaaarghhhhhh!, Brilliant stuff this is.... and the sudden end leaves one feeling giddy LOL, cheers M

this was one of those experiments that turned out to be full of energy

sorry it evoked bad memories - i only got the feeling of high energy from it myself

thank you

I used to feel like this every night...
...when I was a little kid. I just KNEW there was a wolf under my bed that was going to eat my toes as soon as I fell asleep! (Thankfully, I was wrong...)

Your creativity and originality never ceases to astound, Bill.

Tres bizarre, but fun!

Be well friend!

when i was little i occasionally crawled under my bed when i was supposed to be going to sleep - i know not why

at least i knew there were no monsters under my bed

one time i feel asleep under there - and my parents panicked for a bit when they noticed i wasn't in bed. i guess they thought i had disappeared

thanks!

BILL - this is amazing! how are you doing that wild piano? I feel like I need to call 911, or at least breathe in some pure oxygen or something. This is intensely fabulous - one of your BEST! (And you have MANY bests, so that's saying a LOT)

you can run...
but you can't get the headphones off... wait, I'm not wearing headphones...

and

I still hear this music... ahhhhrgh!

I think this is a drummer's morphine-induced dream. Or perhaps it is Bartok or late Prokofiev? Wasn't it Sergei Prokofiev who felt the piano was really really a percussion instrument?

You are always so amazingly creative and outside the box... but strangely still accessible.

I shall now reference an obscure quote from Lewis Carroll... "There goes Bill!" :-)

ttfn,
Drakonis

perhaps you recognized what happens when you play a drum loop on a piano?

this started from that - and grew from there

i once posted a song called piano as percussion - in fact i was thinking about it when i made this

Running with sharps fun
Smokey this was a banging good time. Every time I come here I get inspiration for two or three posts from the little scraps from your banquets I can figure out. I'll just keep dedicating the pieces I make out of them to you. Well done!
