Description
OK, This is for Father's Day. It is a parody written by Shannon. Her brother, AJ and her were having a conversation about how little video games prepare you for real life and how seldom we would actually produce out of thin air the Legendary Orb of Mystical Orbstrocity" put it on the end of our sword and lob it toward our nearest foe.... or it went something like that.... So Shannon was inspired to write some poetry. Aj, my son being rather bored last weekend whilst visiting, we nabbed the poem off of Shannon's Fiction Press Page and created this song....
I was needing some other sound effects and general video game groove and so I knew there was something out there in the MJ world and thought I had heard something at some point that would fill the bill and recalled there was a tune about Mario and sure enough Elevator Funk's song popped up again. I blended his tune into the mix mainly for his guitar and Mario Brother's clips. The song is called, Mario's 'Shroom Trip by Elevator Funk He graciously agreed that I could steal it and I surely appreciate it.
additional interesting something:
From Constance Steinkuehler, PhD, and Sean Duncan, MA, of the University of Wisconsin
Scientific thinking can be learned in virtual worlds, said Duncan. The majority of participants (86 percent) shared their knowledge to solve problems and more than half the participants (58 percent) used systematic and evaluative processes indicative of scientific reasoning.
"These forums illustrate how sophisticated intellectual practices to improve game play mimic actual scientific reasoning," said Duncan. "Gamers are openly discussing their strategies and thinking, creating an environment in which informal scientific reasoning practices are being learned by playing these online video games."
blah blah blah... and so it goes.
Thank you and Happy Father's Day !!!!

Lyrics
Everything I Learned About Life
(I Learned From My Video Games)
Everything I know
Everything I learned
Everything I do
I got from my video games
When I learned how to drive
I was just 16 years old
When I got behind the wheel
I ran 3 cars right off the road
My instructor told me
“Boy! You'll never drive in the country again!”
Everything I learned about life
I learned from my video games
I learned how to sing and I learned how to swim
I learned how to drive and I learned how to win
I just got a job 3 weeks ago
Now my boss is telling me its time to go
Now I don't have a job
I can't pay my rent
So I guess I have to live with my best friend Jim
Man, what a life!
(I Learned From My Video Games)
Everything I know
Everything I learned
Everything I do
I got from my video games
When I learned how to drive
I was just 16 years old
When I got behind the wheel
I ran 3 cars right off the road
