Description
This is a song idea I got from a Dear Abby column. It seems people were writing in about getting married young, and this one woman wrote in about how all there friends told them their marriage wouldn't last because they were getting married too young. So on each anniversary they celebrated by toasting each other and saying "It Can't Last". Of course the marriage did last for more than fifty years. I thought it was kind of inspirational and so this is the song I wrote for their story. If I were to produce this song I think I'd like to hear a woman singing it. Tell me what you think? Alan

Lyrics
It Canít Last
Verse 1
At seventeen she knew that he was the one
He was nineteen and her hopes and dreams all in one
Everyone tried to warn them, youíre taking a real big chance
What can two young kids know about real romance
Chorus
It canít last, youíre much too young
There are too many things you havenít seen or done
And donít you know, youíre moving too fast
You think this will go on forever, but it canítlast
Verse 2
Their first few years had the usual ups and downs
Driving used cars, working two jobs out of town
Raised two girls and a boy, and on each anniversary day
Toasted their love with the words friends used to say
Chorus
Bridge
After 50 years together in honor of their wedding day
They renewed their vows to each other, and were heard to say
Chorus
We fell in love when we were young
And together thereís so many things weíve seen and done
And we both know, life is moving too fast
We want this goes on forever, but it canít last

Traditional Country styling works perfectly for this song, and you vocal is wonderful on it. The band sonds great, the music fits it, and overall I'd say you have a winner here. Great story, great music, great singing my friend.
