Papers And Politics

Description
Another one of my angry songs with no answers. Written back in the 80's and now brought back to life via GarageBand. I tried to keep it simple and was tempted to do more with it, so I submit it as it is. Tell me what you think is all I ask! Thanks.

Lyrics
When sun can’t shine through the thickening clouds
Something’s wrong with this world.
When silence is heard, then you can be sure,
Something’s wrong with this world

Papers and Politics, litter this world
With misgiven promises, that are never heard.
They’ve got missiles and bullets, aimed at our head,
They’re wishfully thinking, we’re better off dead…

The man on the street, with nothing to eat
Something’s wrong with this world.
The rich keep getting rich, the poor stay poor,
Something’s wrong with this world

Papers and Politics, litter this world
With misgiven promises, that are never heard.
They’ve got missiles and bullets, aimed at our head,
They’re wishfully thinking, we’re better off dead…
Well we’re not!

I very much enjoyed this,
Your vocals are great, and i like how they just come in from one side.

Great lyrics also!

Strong lyrics and some fine acoustic work. I like the quick phrasing with the vox and they sound good. Nice track. Please, I know very little and am still new to this recording stuff. But I wish there were a little more panning with the vocals and acoustic. My nit. But a real nice track. Thanks.

Thanks mowguy3
I wanted to keep it simple, so I kept the panning and everything down to a minimum. But I'm tending to agree, it may need more "space". Thanks for the comment!

Nice
Very nice. The lyrics are thought-provoking and delivered with feeling. Nice guitar work here, too. As for the recording, I'd have centered the vocal more, but that's just a recording issue. The song is very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Wow...
I really love your riffing on this one man...

Great protest music. Written in the 80's, in the spirit of the 60's, and (sadly) still more than appropriate in the early 21st century.

Well done! Bravo!

Take care man!

powerful lyrics and excellent performance. I really like your vocals and guitar playing. This has a good angsy energy that carries it along. Very well done!

yeah, this totally puts "Horse With No Name" to mind - in a good way. i'd like to hear the vox more centered. nice guitar work, great protest song - they're never dated are they?

Good song
As an America fan since forever, I can hear that in there. For the next take: To my ear, it needs some "body": simple themeatic bass, a deeper acoustic overlay, and warm up the vocal with some mids and reverb and perhaps a wee bit of delay during the chorus. Doesn't need drums, although I can hear a heavier "Sandman" arrangement - like America does it live these days. My 2¢.

Still relevant
even now.... a great performance as your impatience comes through in the vocals, but the guitars sound really great, regards M
