Here's a song I've been trying to get together for a while. I was going for a sad yet ominous kind of feel. Suggestions for improvement are welcome.

	be yourself excellent tune. i like the stark approach for starters. the change up in the middle is very cool. the ending guitars!!!!! oh yeah! but i have to be honest with you, could be me, but the sleigh bells do get a bit to much after awhile. otherwise great tune! Thanks Vic - really liking your latest posts. Thanks for the honest feedback. Im gonna go ahead and defend the sleigh bells though. I like em! I had an aversion to them in non christmas songs for awhile, but then I heard them as a percussion element rather than something that belongs on santas sleigh and I came to really appreciate what they can bring to a song. THAT SAID, maybe they can be a bit too up front in places - something I ll definitely consider changing when I remix-master this. THanks again!

I really did the fingerpicking after the solo, especially under the feedback. I agree with Vic, the sleighbells are a bit much. They're not bad,they just don't seem to fit in. The melody on the chorus (if it is the chorus) is really cool.

Starting with a Taylor doesn't hurt, but how do you get such a crisp acoustic sound? I want to copy your process.

thanks eric. the picking at the end was a happy accident. i originally dropped everything out but forgot those, and when i heard them continue at the end it sounded nice. the guitar sound actually has a lot to do with the guitar itself, but all i do is put my snowball mic right up to the spot between the neck and soundhole and play. the rest is EQing and mastering. as for the bells, see above post! thanks for the honest feedback though :)

	I love this song - really the relaxed, almost weary vocals with the sparse acoustic arrangement - great sleigh bells - that dissonant turn on the last chord - all excellent I also like the kick into electric that stays understated and doesn't go up into frustration. looking back on this
man this is a typically great rsorenson acoustic tune but what sets it apart is that really creative break with the fingerpicking, and more importantly imo the solo with the dueling distortion lines that ends it, brother that is some kind of cool.

also like the print - looks like an illustration from Tolstoy or Chekhov.

my rsorenson/Satellite Tragedy playlist on the iPod is one of the most played and I love you for giving me something new to add to it. everyone stuck in Silicon Valley traffic gets to hear you as I sit in my car in the heat and turn the radio up loud. i love these more acoustic tunes you do. this one has a really cool beat. the percussion rocks all the way through. your vocals are stunning - i really love your higher range and falsetto. some cool, eerie feeling stuff with the backwards tracks and the kids playing. My only nit on this one is that the panning seemed a little extreme to me, but I was listening in earbuds. Anyway, another very cool tune - thank you!
