full of sweetness and charm Like a murmuring river, calmly flowing with a cheerful pace, full of simplicity and gentle serenity. With the strings being the sunrays happily caught as a reflection in the round little waves. Carefree and light, following the water until the sun sets, calling home her little children. It's also time to upgrade the string library (dang! where did my poetry go.). The piano sounds so lovely and your beautiful playing deserves to be backed up an equally pleasing violin ensemble:) Really did find this inspiring and soothing, I'm just joking about the strings. Thanks Parichayaka You are too funny. I know my strings are terrible and I appreciate you pointing it out for everyone. Now I will need counseling to to get over the hurt you have caused!!! LOL - I tried something different than I usually use and I did not realize all the mistakes I left on here until it was too late. I believe in leaving it up as is....don't ask me why. I am crazy I guess. :) I sincerely appreciate your listen and sweet words. Thanks for listening. Check out my latest song called Sweet September

Peace Within Soothing and refreshing - wait...you already said that. Very nice work - Thanks for sharing this with us. Check out my latest song called End of a Season

Soothing for sure Yes, it is exactly as you say, refreshing and soothing. Just finished listening to Paul Page's new piano composition, also calming, and I must say it is a treat to be able to hear such exquisite music here… you are a very special talent. One quibble: The overlying melody in the strings is very pretty, and fits well with the beautiful piano playing, but I found the quality of the strings sound detracted somewhat from the overall experience… it is always difficult to make MIDI strings sound real, but there are string sample libraries now that are quite good (some are amazing, but are priced accordingly, unfortunately!) … I have not tried it, but I have heard others' posts using the Garageband Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack, and it sounds very impressive, esp. for the price. If you would like to check it out: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA319Z/A Anyway, beautiful, and I thank you for sharing your wonderful gifts with us. Thanks Clark Thanks for taking the time to comment and tell me that my strings are crap. I have been so tortured today! ha ha.... I hear them and I HATE them too. I tried something different and here you have it. Boo Hiss Boo... :) If you would be so kind to send me money to purchase a new stringy thingy, I would sooooo appreciate it! Seriously, I am so glad you liked this and I respect your opinion very much. Thanks for the compliments. Check out my latest song called Sweet September

Continuum peacefulness I love these sorts of peaceful arpeggio pieces. The piano is expressively played, full of heart. The backing synth strings are nice at the outset, but seem unnecessary by the end, in my ears, perhaps becuz they never take the lead, as in a concerto, and offer a melodic alternative or variation. They are also kind of a stiff, not as expressive; varying the attack on the patch or actually using separate string sections in tandem might alleviate that stiffness and lend a more human feel to that element of the arrangement. A very soothing, sweet track. Thanks for sharing. Check out my latest song called Forge A New Life (MJRF)

Thanks Tobin I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to listen and leave such deep feedback about this song. I really missed the mark when I chose these strings, but I swear they sounded better in the headphones. That was my mistake, not listening to it without them first. :) Oh well, I am glad you liked the song anyway. Thank you! Check out my latest song called Sweet September

Awfully nice, Gail... Great sonority and a nice, rolling feel... I think Parichayaka is correct that the piano's timbre and recorded sound is much superior to the string patch sounds... That's a nit that I've had with a few piano based compositions on MacJams... Some of the new piano samples are so good that everything else sounds a little artificial in comparison... Nevertheless, the vibe of the whole thing is peaceful, and the coolness of the composition comes through... Ed Check out my latest song called Next Time Around (w/jiguma)

Thanks Ed I agree. Some of the strings sounds are so terrible and it is hard to know which to choose when you have such limited choices. absolutely beautiful! Even more than refreshing and soothing, I found your composition inspiring and I am in awe of your musical gift... your ability to soften the notes in all the right places and and (I'm searching for the right words...) and then bring about a feeling of gentle yet solid strength thru the lower notes, just enough, to get the feeling of rising up and carrying on... not sure if this would make sense to anyone else as I lack the musical terms I am looking for ( I quit piano lessons way too soon I see ), and everyone will have their own interpretation of the song, but this song will be with me for a while!! Also as I'm just new to MJ's, I'm grateful that there are so many talented people such as yourself that share music and encouragement. Thank you! |
