Description
Ever have a musical epiphany?

I've had two in the past year.

The first was the realization that Going To California existed. It was on the "wrong" side of Led Zeppelin IV and somehow I missed it. That led to a re-examination of Led Zeppelin and along with my drummer, Burke Kelly, we did an album of Zep tunes. Burke sang them all and played drums. I did everything else, including awaken an interest in orchestration after seeing how Page and Jones added so many layers to what they wrote and arranged.

The second epiphany was Tiler's "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" video. I guess it reminded me why I picked up a guitar in the first place.

At any rate, Burke and I came up with this film/video/album/performance project — Bold Forest (the Musician's Daydream).

Woodwinds is one song on it. This one is another, inspired by his Irish and my Scottish Highland heritages of the Travellers.

Craig & Sir Burke...

oh, a fine song... so smooth. I love your acoustic guitar work Craig. Yes, the reason you picked up a guitar in the first place. You've mixed the vocals really well. i love Burke's singing. You're best balanced track to date (of course that assumes I still have an accurate memory). Cool song. D's two Mics Up!

Sir who?
As if he doesn't have a big enough head already lol.

But he sure can sing. Not many drummers tend to be the lead singer of the band

And thanks for noting the mixing dude. I've been so into GarageBand for the last while. I can sit for hours just mucking about with all the gizmos and options and stuff :)

very cool
it's like the kingston trio taking acid and jamming at some club in the Haight that they really shouldn't be at. Great track and great playing (like the back story too).

michael2's comment is one of the best I have ever read here at MJ.... Funny.... and probably accurate!

Fine
Happy-go-lucky song. Yes, reminiscent of the Kingston Trio as well as the Moody Blues. Or maybe The Association in their Bluegrass phase.
